What our customers are saying about our Self Catering Holidays In Dumfries And Galloway.

"Our holiday party consisted of four adults and one five week old baby. We were pleasantly surprised by the property, we all feel that the photographs do not do it the justice it deserves. It was comfortable and well equipped. The only equipment I would add would be a clothes airer for drying clothes indoors on wet days. Unfortunately the water filter was not working during our stay which made interesting work of feeding and bathing the baby but it did not spoil the holiday for us. The location is really peaceful but close enough to be able to reach a supermarket and a take away! Touring the area was fun. We usually visit the area twice a year to go walking but one of our party had just had a quite major surgery and this ruled out walking. We still found entertainment in the area every day to keep us happy. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family."

"Having stayed on the Solway coast before we knew what the area had to offer, we expected a pleasant stay without any problems what-so-ever. Cottage is nice but nothing special, didn’t feel homely as nothing was comfortable (beds/sofas). Felt tired and a few places needed TLC, both kettles provided were full of limescale and not useable, also a number of plug sockets were broken and hoover plug was broken. For guests that are not dog owners I wouldn’t recommend as dog hair is visible throughout the property - even found it all over the duvet in the master bedroom as if a big black dog had been sleeping on the bed!Although the property did not meet our expectations it won’t be our last visit to the slowly coast."

"An amazing location with a top notch family home and that's what it feels like, a home. Liz's homemade cakes and jam, a dog bed ready by the Aga and crisp white sheets - better than home!! The hot tub is a fantastic place to watch the weather arrive from Ireland; thunder and lightening to blazing sunshine, we had it all. Drunmore is small but has a well stocked very friendly shop and if you ask at the cafe they can provide a lobster or two for a special supper (even cook it for you). Rugged rocks, sandy beaches and a lighthouse to climb (with a handy cafe), not to mention the wild life and fishing, the house has it all. Will we go back - without a doubt!"

"Very comfortable, clean and cosy with good radiator heating if needed. Good king size bed to ensure a good nights sleep. All necessary appliances available in the open plan room or adjacent laundry room. Pleasant sitting out area with table, not overlooked. Owner on site to welcome you. The small town on Gate House of Fleet is nearby (five minutes by car) and has shops and an interesting information centre. Kirkcudbright (artists town) is twenty minutes away and well worth a visit as are the other attractions. As the accommodation is open plan there is restricted space to store /hang clothes."

"Fab holiday home, 4 adults and 2 children on this visit, all couldn't believe how spacious and comfortable it was. Lovely location secluded and relaxing with much wildlife about and so many places to visit as a family within an hours drive. Lots of nooks and crannies for the kids to hide in, even carried on building a den in the garden someone had started. lovely being able to walk about in the grounds. Although we had to be aware of dog poo that previous occupants did not dispose of in certain areas the garden! Other than that it was fabulous!"
