"The bungalow was pleasant and comfortable. We would have preferred the hot water not to have been reliant on an immersion heater. The bathroom needed a brighter bulb in the ceiling light and lighting fitted above the mirror. It was chilly in the bathroom first thing in the morning because the towel rail was never on. There was a constant loud ticking from a timer in one of the kitchen cupboards. The dog blanket should have been in a basket and not on the leather suite. Even so, it was worthy of a nine.On arrival, we were upset to find that the owners also run a caravan and camper van site and dog training classes in their grounds. If this had been mentioned in either the property details or reviews, we would have not booked. Even worse, was the lack of privacy. Opposite the kitchen sink window is a screened area for waste disposal and chemical toilet emptying. Attached to the bathroom is a toilet for the campers, which could be heard in the bathroom and bedroom, when flushed. It was not unusual for someone to be standing by the bathroom window, whilst holding a gate open."

"We enjoyed our weekend at Green oak cottage. The views of the country side from the garden are truly stunning, it was lovely sitting in the garden watching the sun set. The cottage itself is beautiful and homely with everything you need. The spa bath was amazing! We took our dog and had great walks from the cottage, it was really therapeutic walking through the country side, so peaceful. We came across a little waterfall which was nice to see, and lots of sheep and a pig in their enclosures. Just across the driveway from the cottage there is also another garden which was large enough for our dog to have a run around with her ball. The welcome basket was very much appreciated, copse house cider that's made across the road and crisps and biscuits, they were delicious. David introduced himself and was very helpful with advice on where to walk our dog. Very friendly and we knew where David and Jane were if we needed anything. Overall a perfect cottage to get away from it all and relax."

"A lovely cottage with scenic country views and extremely well appointed with thoughtful care. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. After driving out to several nearby locations such as Clouds Hill ( Lawrence of Arabia’s house ), Blue Pool, Golden Hill and Stourhead gardens ( with it’s ancient Spreadeage Inn, in the grounds serving good food ) it was good to chill on the patio with a drink, gazing at the cows and listening to the soothing waterfall in the pond. What’s not to like - and of course the local pub ( The Ship at West Stour ) just a mile or two away which serves good food and drink. In all we had a lovely break at the cottage, encouraged by excellent sunny weather."

"A beautiful cottage, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bed is incredible. Hosts were extremely welcoming, the scones/tea/coffee welcome pack was a lovely touch, as was the goodie bag for my dog. I cannot fault the accommodation and this is my second visit. The only reason I did not give 10's for the location is that it is on a road with no street lights, making night time dog walking difficult. This would not be an issue for anyone without a dog. Same reason for not giving top marks on local amenities. There is a pub in walking distance, but again lack of street lighting makes it difficult at night."

"We had a thoroughly relaxing holiday at Uncle Bobs . It seemed almost home from home , with very comfortable Beds and sitting room furniture . Everything had been thought of to make the stay as perfect as possible .It was a good location for enjoying the Isle of Purbeck , as well as being in walking distance to the Shop's and Beach at Swanage . We enjoyed the account of Uncle Bob's life , it gave a great insight into the history of the bungalow and the peace within . Sitting in the garden listening to the Steam trains working their way up to Helston Halt brought back very nostalgic memories too ."
