"Seacliff is a very tired rental and would benefit from some tlc maintenance and a good clean. On pulling up our first impressions of seacliff were very disappointing. Garden was a mess , completely overgrown, scaffolding on the floor tree cuttings piled up, spilt cement on the drive, not very welcoming at all!On entering we were hit with a foul damp smell , we had to open all doors and windows, went to put champagne in utility fridge to be faced with mould, not impressed! Upstairs kitchen had mouse droppings in the cupboard, and the bin bag had been chewed in the morning. A dishwasher with no tablets , 1 toilet roll, pubic hair in the shower, crumbs beside the bed, cobwebs... I could go on! We took photos to back this up.Seacliff has not been presented well at all. Tiles falling off the wall on the balcony, balcony railings loose making a gap big enough for a child to fall through, dirty “blown” patio doors, that we needed to oil as we couldn’t open.Fortunately between us we didn’t let it spoil our celebrations. For the amount we paid for 2 nights we were very disappointed and would not recommend seacliff and feel I we were over charged and would like my money back.Your photos are very misleading."

"It's been a few weeks since we spent our Easter holiday at Deepwell Barn, and I've been meaning to find the time to write a few words about our experience. The cottage was a great base to explore the area. We live in Hull, so Devon and Cornwall are quite a long drive away. We easily visited places of interest local to the cottage and farther afield. For all intents and purposes the cottage is a new build within an existing barn structure, which is great. Everything being like a new home, but with the charm of an old building. That said the barn has been converted to a very high standard, and being from a construction background, I spent a lot of time admiring the quality of the joinery. The cottage had everything we could possibly need, and the welcome pack left by the owners was a very nice touch.Whilst the cottage is in a very rural landscape, within ten minutes you're in the centre of Bideford with all the shops and facilities you could possibly need. All in all we had a great time, and we would highly recommend a holiday there."

"This was a lovely property, perfect for an out of season escape. Right on the Tarka trail you had unlimited walking and cycling right on your doorstep. It is large and detached and perfect for two people who want peace and quiet, with a bit of home comfort. I appreciated the hairdryer as I forgot my own. It’s a short walk to Bideford along the trail and the beautiful beach at Westward Ho! just 15 minutes drive. My only niggle was that the kitchen equipment was sparse and poor quality as is often the case with rental properties. If you want a fire the night you arrive bring your own kindling as they only provided three chunky logs and a couple of fire lighters which wasn’t enough to get the fire going. Also if you have fire gauntlets I’d bring them as I really missed mine! All in all a super break, with amazing weather in October."

"A damp fousty smell on arrival. A few other problems with this property. No Wi-Fi. One of the toilet doors wouldn't close. No fire door on kitchen. Rain pouring through one of the windows in the down stairs bedroom. Garden a little unsitely. No protection around the patio as the drop is over 6 feet. A little unfinished but still has some character. Very dirty windows. This is a big thing when you have such lovely stunning views. Telescope doesn't work as there is far too much mould in the lens. Some chess pieces are broken. Table football is that stiff you end up moving the table. Unfortunately we had to stay in the whole visit due to the weather."

"We had a fantastic 10 days in this comfortable and well-equipped cottage with its lovely garden. The owners could not have been more helpful, answering any queries very promptly. Colyton is an interesting and historic little town, close to the sea and surrounded by beautiful contryside. There are some super circular walks of 5-6 miles which can be done direct from the cottage. A stay at Lilac Place is highly recommended by us in all respects. One word of warning - the cottage is next to Colyton's fascinating St Andrew's Church, the bells of which strike every quarter including through the night! So light sleepers should take earplugs."
