"We just returned from a 7 night stay at The Residence (3 adults and 3 children under 5). There are lots of positives - stunning setting in the cove, beautiful infinity pool, great architecture, very friendly service from staff. Our case went missing on the outbound flight and turned up two days later and the hotel were good about phoning on our behalf to check its whereabouts The funiculars were a novelty but it became a bit of a logistical game in order to catch one at the right time (and took a good 2 days to get our bearings in terms of working out which one to catch). The adjacent hotel kids club also looked nicely run . Its a shame there is no lift through the central part of the hotel right down to the beach. The beach is accessed by two flights of stairs which is impractical with a buggy/small children. Villa guests get preferred seating in a separate area on the beach! We only dined in the buffet restaurant once and the food was average and its pretty bustling atmosphere with lots of kids (ours were in bed!). We dined on the half board dine around programme a few times and loved the Ocean restaurant and the Taverna special Greek evening was also worth going to. We also left the hotel two evenings to eat in Agios Nikolas (would recommend Pelagos restaurant). Breakfast for villa guests is in the Ocean restaurant and it was very calm and excellent service - can't comment on the main buffet breakfast but we enjoyed sitting in the Ocean restaurant garden at the back and it was very relaxing. It was unfortunate that for the first 2/3 days we had horrendous winds (which I have since read are very common and occurred throughout July this summer) and it made the pool and umbrellas unusable and also the first three rows at the beach due to sand being blown. This got us off to a bad start but fortunately it stopped on day 3 and we had a lovely last 4 days without the wind and for that reason the hotel really grew on us from that point on. Getting a sun lounger at the main pool is also tricky unless you are prepared to stay there all day (not practical with young kids). Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful."

"This villa was a very good choice and was beautifully maintained and in a very convenient position. We went as a family of 8 adults and all said the interior of the property was the best we had stayed in. Our only small problem is there was not much outdoor space, l and really no sun after 3pm. We worked round this going to the beach later in the day which is literally 5 minutes away. We headed for the Blue Sea restaurant were if buying drinks/food they never charged for the sunbeds. They also provided the football mad boys with a TV to watch their beloved football. I would recommend this bar/restaurant which has recently changed hands - all the staff are very friendly. Stavros - the owner of the villa was brilliant - he helped make our stay superb without being intrusive. He provide various Greek traditional food over our 10 days, cleaned the villa thoroughly every 3 days and left a wonderful welcome pack with basically everything you needed. We loved Chania which was 10 minutes - 10 euro in a taxi and went there quite a few times in the evening. It was busy in August but we always managed to get a table and it is full of Greeks on holiday rather than the standard Brits which we loved. Stavros recommended some places to eat which we tried - all were delicious and we also chartered a boat for the day which Stavros also sorted for us. I would recommend this Villa for anyone who appreciates quality and outstanding service."

"This was our 5th consecutive year and the resort itself remains as immaculate as the first time we went. The staff, without exception, are fantastic, always smiling and will do anything to make your stay as enjoyable as they can. The food was great, we ate in the Pangea and Taverna which were both excellent. Love the chilled atmosphere for pre and post dinner drinks. The pool and beach are both very well maintained and the staff always make sure you have everything you want. The views are spectacular from all aspects and the rooms just perfect - this year we were lucky to stay in Villa Clio which was just amazing. We have, over the years stayed in a variety of the rooms here and I can honestly say they have all been great and exceed the expectations you arrive with, and certainly beat most of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in (and there have been a fair few!). So, as you can imagine we will be returning next year. Thank you for another fabulous holiday."

"My family and I visited the villa in Kalamaki for a relaxing easter break. We had high expectations, but our stay exceeded every one of them. The villa is absolutely stunning and contains all the facilities, that you could possibly wish for. It’s situated in a nice and homely neighbourhood very close to a beautiful beach, and in easy distance from the centre of Chania. The owner, Stavros, and his gorgeous wife bent over backwards to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and their level of service went far beyond our requests. They are such an amazing couple! We were indeed sad to leave, and there is no question, that we will return, as soon as w eget the opportunity to do so."

"I went along with family got a villa, but me last minute got a room. I was able to call a buggy to be transported to and from the villa very easily. The villa had a pool but as we had children in the party we requested the pool be heated to a higher temperature which they accommodated. About the children's club: it was fantastic. The children who are quite picky actually refused to be collected at lunch time and wanted to stay until closing. Their staff was fantastic. The room service arrived hot and whenever we are in the main resort it was very varied in themed buffet style. I would highly recommend and am excited to visit one of their winter resorts"
