"Unfortunately, the Apple Loft was a real disappointment to us: the bed was too small and not only too soft but also extremely wobbly (every single movement seemed like a jolt). Not only is the street to the cottage louder than we expected (we thought it was a rural and small street with very little traffic) but also the main road (B4632) only about 300 yards away, which makes it a little too loud with the bedroom facing the street.Apart from the kitchen not being very practical (chopping boards missing etc), things did not seem to be as hygienic as at first sight: the dishwasher reeked and did not seem to have been maintained in the months before and we had to descale the kettle; very unsettling was the feeling that the bedlinen was not really clean: from the first day on there was this waft of sweat and strange perfume around, leaving the impression that the pillows themselves and the duvets had not been dry-washed for a very long time, something we have not experienced in any other accommodation in these last three weeks although we have spent a couple of nights in different hotels. The fact that the adjacent building was a building site that we directly looked on to from our balcony was not very comforting either; however, we must concede that absolutely no noise came from that side as they only worked when we were out oft he house.Although Ben was very obliging and gave us great tips on the sights and surroundings, this could not make up for the inconveniences we had."

"My wife, my 10 month daughter and I stayed at Dove Cottage whilst attending a friends wedding. We had a little trouble finding it on the first night as it was dark but Chris kindly guided us in and helped get us settled on arrival. The cottage itself was perfectly pleasant and is situated in a quiet area. It was well-equipped and the beds were particularly comfortable (I also rather enjoyed the miniature indoor bowling!). The welcome basket was a nice treat and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed playing with Chris’ lovely dogs. As for the location, there are few amenities around but it did offer great views and places to walk. There were a couple of small things that we found disappointing, the first being the broken shower head. This was particularly disappointing as the bathroom itself was a really nicely decorated space, but unfortunately made the shower almost unusable. The second point was we found rather a lot of dog hairs on the towels and other furnishings which, for people with allergies like my wife, is quite troublesome. Despite that, we all had a great time and would recommend Dove Cottage. With a few minor tweaks it could easily be a much higher scorer in our eyes. Thanks again to Chris for helping make our stay that bit more comfortable."

"Just a quick note to say how much we all enjoyed our stay at Ropewalk Cottage. The views were wonderful and we managed some great walks nearby on the Heart of England way (although we didn't look quite as professional as most!). The rooms were extremely comfortable, very clean and the house well equipped. Perfect size for our extended family. We loved the nespresso machine and the dishwasher:-)) The one thing we felt was missing was a broom - (as my sisters kids left a lot of toast crumbs!). and we weren't sure about how to recycle plastics? Otherwise it was great! I'm sure the garden and BBQ will get more use in the summer - but I enjoyed one sunny morning having breakfast there until the clouds re-appeared. We managed to find some local NT properties - Snowshill Manor is just up the road about 4 miles away and is completely unique - well worth a visit, and especially if you like Samurai armour! Broadway Tower was also great - the views reminded me of Tara..and a very nice lunch to be had in the coffee shop there too. We managed to get over to Burford where my sister and family had a fab day out at the zoo - highly recommended and kept the kids happy. Personally, I was happy perusing the shops and drinking coffee and eating cake in Huffkins:-)"

"I searched far and wide to find the perfect place to celebrate my wife's fortieth and I'm so pleased that I chose Ropewalk Cottage. It was a gem surrounded by the beautiful crown of the Cotswolds. The owners have taken great care to provide all you could need inside the cottage: from the Nespresso machine to the lovely decoration of the bedrooms and bathrooms, there was no detail overlooked. As a the centre of the holiday celebrations, we were also able to welcome friends and family to stay. Everybody who walked into the door was wowed by the luxury and felt, as we did, perfectly at home. Stephanie and Oliver - the owners - took great care of all of our needs whilst we stayed. They provided a bottle of champagne to start the holiday, which was a wonderful way to begin. From there the cottage was a base for us to explore lots of the beautiful villages that are the essence of the Cotswolds and were so wonderfully charming. I strongly recommend Ropewalk Cottage and have every intention of returning."

"This is not a pretty Cotswold cottage and is located on a housing estate but don't let that put you off. Wren's Nest is a cosy and compact bungalow which has everything needed for two people and maybe a dog to have a comfortable stay. The property is extremely well equipped with a good range of cooking and cleaning equipment. Everthing was spotlessly clean and the owner made us very welcome showing us round personally. She kindly left us some Christmas presents and a bottle of wine and decorated the house which made it extra special for Christmas. The house is only five minutes walk from the historic centre of Moreton which as a good range of shops and cafes, we would partcularly recommend the butchers and the cheese shop. It is also only a short walk into open countryside which we appreciated for walking out dog while there are also secure gardens front and back. All in all we were very satisfied with this property and would consider coming back if we returned to the Cotswolds."
