"This cottage is great as far as visiting the 7 bays in the area- great beaches. It does need updating, décor, furnishings and bathroom need attention. Downstairs loo door does not close and oven in kitchen badly needs a good clean - cannot use unless kitchen window is open and extractor turned on to full as it sets off smoke alarm. Kitchen window needs new handle & is difficult to open. Bathroom door does not lock (could be a problem if sharing with friends). No outdoor space at back - teeny bit of patio. Front garden has no privacy and doesn't look cared for. Other people have noted the oven problem, loo & bathroom doors in their comments but they have not been fixed. Lack of wardrobe space, twin room is tiny (no wardrobe at all). We do not think this cottage deserves it's 4 star rating. Does not come up to standard of other 4stars we've stayed in in Cornwall. We came to the conclusion it gets it's 4star rating for location only."

"The one local amenity The Village Inn, was excellent. I would recommend this to able bodied people. The managers were very efficient and friendly. But if one of your party needs a really accessible property: There are grab rails around the downstairs toilet and a slope to the front door; Both upstairs and downstairs showers are over bath, not easy for the over 80's in our party and completely inaccessible for my father who needs assistance walking; there are no grab rails, or mirror, or towel rail, near the downstairs sink; without moving at least 2 of the ( very heavy and soft) chairs, there is no access to the dining table for a wheelchair. The grounds are lovely, but pushing a wheelchair on the loose stones was very difficult."

"The Byre is one of three cottages converted from farm buildings on Mennabroom farm which dates back Centuries. Along with the cottages the farm house has accommodation for bed & breakfast guests. The location is simply stunning, remote, peaceful and far from civilisation. And yet just a short drive off of the main A30 allowing easy access to just about anywhere in Cornwall. The owners, Deborah & Ian are very welcoming &, friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. A Cornish cream tea awaits you upon arrival and was most welcome. The cottage is very clean and the quality of furnishings & equipment is of a very high standard. There are exposed beams throughout. The weather was great. A very relaxing holiday. Highly recommended."

"Stunning location, very obliging managers, close to everything we wanted to see. After travelling 360 miles to get there we didn't want to be driving for hours each day. On two days we drove only as far as Liskeard Railway Station and back to Rosecraddoc in the evening. We were handy for Bodmin Moor and also the coastal villages of Looe and Polperro. The narrow lanes took a bit of getting used to but it was worth it. At Rosecraddoc we enjoyed several evening walks around the Lake and grounds, including a visit to their very own tavern. As stated, a stunning location, approachable and responsive management. Brilliant."

"The location of Bellagio was perfect as we had a puppy, the enclosed garden and courtyard were very safe, and we enjoyed lots of country walks nearby.Overall we enjoyed our stay, but a couple of things let the cottage down. A better detailed list of Information about the facilities in the cottage, and it did seem a little out of date. A couple of the kitchen drawers were messy with odd stuff and the two torches didn’t work if we had had to use them. A small non-stick saucepan needed replacing. The oven wasn’t very clean. That reflects my score of 7."
