"A lovely, spacious and very warm modern cottage with a wonderful view over the valley to the Black Mountains. The track up to the site needs careful negotiation and there are some ramshackle farm buildings to the side and rear of the cottage but the area is very quiet and we enjoyed watching the barn owl arriving at and leaving the barn at the back. The kitchen is large and mostly well equipped and organised for recycling but could perhaps use a grater and some new cutlery. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding non-feather. There are plenty of towels and toilet rolls and the shower is a joy. There is a petrol station with shop nearby but we shopped at the Co-op in Llandeilo which is a short drive away. All in all, this is one of the nicest places I have stayed; we had a lovely relaxing time and the owners were delightful. Thank you very much."

"It is a wonderful property. Restored with taste, with attention to small details. The reality is even better then the pictures on the website. Old modern necessities in a old traditional heritage site. We met the owners, and they have an inspiring vision on the future of the site. Note it is next to a real life working diary farm. But ear plugs do the job. I had a visit to farm and a nice talk about farming and the country life in Wales with the farmer. With his central location you never have to travel far to see most of South and Mid Wales. The welcome basket was a real treat : with olive oil for cooking, a delicious cake, coffee, a bottle of wine and milk. We knew there was an Nespresso machine so we brought our own extra coffee. We enjoyed our stay."

"A lovely comfortable cottage in a great spot. Castle Hill Cottage was very well equipped for our party of three adults and two young children. With a stunning beach, and a fab castle to explore within a few minutes walk and loads of shops in nearby Carmarthen we couldn't have asked for more. If you are looking for a lovely quiet spot with local facilities within walking distance this is for you. The two children (aged 9 and 5) loved the beach with its seemingly endless sands, and with the attractions of Tenby, St Davids, Pembrey Country Park further afield Castle Hill Cottage is well situated to explore this beautiful area of Wales.John and Gabi were brilliant and Castle Hill Cottage is highly recommended."

"Very basic accommodation . Just about big enough for two people.Main drawback is the so called shower which was no more than a hand held shower head connected to the bath tap. There was no shower screen or curtain so the bathroom was liable to become soaked. The bath was poorly sealed to the wall leading to water leaking down the wall into the ground floor . There was no hand hold so the whole set up was a safety hazard . The oil fired boiler supplying hot water was vented beneath the kitchen and bedroom windows which gave rise to some mysterious odours when running. That aside, the area is very scenic and the local people were friendly and helpful."

"Excellent location for exploring this exceptionally beautiful, historic and peaceful area of the Brecon Beacons. The cottage is down a private drive with plenty of space around it. It has been renovated to a very high standard, is very well furnished and equipped and was very comfortable for the six of us. A few points could be improved. Bathrooms are spacious and modern but with no hanging space for towels. The internet service is very unreliable. We found switching the power the modem off and back on helped to get it going again. All minor points and overall we would highly recommend Dolgoed House."
