CAROLINE - verified booking
"We spent a week here with 4 and 6 year old boys. They absolutely loved being ‘on a farm’ and seeing all the tractors, cows, sheep and sheep dogs. You really feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, with spectacular breathtaking views all round, but in fact it’s only a mile away from a main road. I’m not that keen on single track country roads but we had no problems getting to and from the main road to the cottage so it wasn’t a downside for us at all. There was plenty of parking. The garden was great for our boys exploring and playing hide and seek. They loved the monkey puzzle tree and seeing the calf in the next field. It was really peaceful. The house itself is quirky and a proper cottage with the occasional sloping floor upstairs which added to the quaintness. The room with a cot in had blackouts which is always a bonus with children. The downstairs power shower is unexpectedly amazing for a cottage like this - no problem with water pressure. We had a lovely barbecue and enjoyed the wood burning fire in the lounge despite it being August (the weather wasn’t always kind). The internet was a bit patchy but better than you might have imagined for somewhere so remote. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment (the only thing we could have done with was some tin foil for the BBQ). The location was ideal for exploring mid Wales - we could get everywhere we needed to in under 45 minutes mostly. Looking at the Visitors book lots of families come back to this cottage many times (dozens in some cases!) so it’s clearly a real favourite."

"A superb home from home the farm house we rented was everything we wanted both internally and externally. The house was lovingly preserved, spotless and comfortable in a stunning rural setting. The views from the property were amazing and my dog loved being so close to the sheep in the next field. The area is absolutely stunning with mountains, waterfalls and fields to explore and just a few miles away is the small town Dolgellau with local shops, pubs and restaurants. We were met by the owner, were made to feel very welcome and were allowed total privacy."

"We just spent a week and it was fantastic! A remote place with a lovely little garden with stunning views of Cadair Idris, with the sound of sheep and birds in the background. There were some lovely little Welsh goodies waiting for us, which was a very nice welcome. Our kids, age 8 and 11, and we enjoyed the scramble up Cadair Idris, the Precipice and Torrent Walks and the beach in Barmouth. My husband loved the mountain bike trails at Coed Y Brenin, which also offers lovely walks and trail runs. Thank you for a perfect holiday!"

"Had a wonderful time during New Years in this beautiful cottage. The views from the sun room are fabulous to gaze at, and the isolation has allowed us to have a very relaxed time. Being accompanied by the sheep has made out stay way more interesting! The cottage is well equipped and maintained, and we had all the facilities that we required provided for us. The owner was very friendly and welcoming! We thank you for letting us stay in this fascinating and cosy place, will definitely visit again soon!"

"I really enjoyed my stay in this cosy and beautiful cottage. When we arrived, the cottage was warm and ready to enjoy. We loved the idea that it was in the middle of nowhere away from London's bustle, surrounded by sheep and welsh hills. Enjoyed spending evenings by fireplace, the days exploring area whether by car or on foot. I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas with my fiancee and future mother-in-law. We would definitely like to come back one day. Thank you!"
