"The cottage was reasonably clean. The owner lived on site and she was having building work done. It would have started a couple of days into our stay as the owner's wife advised but the builders were rained off, but I presume eventually there would have been a cement mixer working and builders. There was nowhere really to walk our dog, although we were told of a path to a field but it was all very overgrown and we did not want our dog to get tics. The road was noisy and started early. There was no pavement to walk into the village and you couldn't walk along the road as it was too busy and dangerous to do so. We had a small garden, fenced off with a lawn but it was very difficult to move into the property with luggage etc as you had to keep an eye on the gate or the dog would get out. The owners had a large front garden but you couldn't let your dog loose on this as they had a dove cote and there were no gates so the dog could have got out into the road. The main problem at this property, and has been mentioned previously on Reevoo and in the visitors book at the cottage, were THE FLIES. There was a fly strip above the fridge freezer in the kitchen on arrival which had at least 15 flies on it. That put me off for a start as seeing dead flies whilst eating is not nice. We changed the fly strip the next day and within 24 hours the fly strip was full again. We took pictures of the flies, they were just everywhere. We think it was probably the pigeons and doves mess in the main front garden that was attracting the flies, or the septic tank or the flies coming underneath the wooden floor and there were holes in certain areas of the floor where flies could come up. There could have been a dead rat or mouse under the floorboards we just don't know. The owners wife told us that she didn't have flies in her house and the owner came to see us and just really shrugged his shoulders and said its the country! But we live in the country and we don't have a problem with flies. I have never, in my 55 years, had to use a fly strip. We moved out of the property on our 4th night out of 11 and tried to claim our money back. I can't stress enough the flies and there is also a rat and mouse issue as the owners had plug in rodent deterrents and we found mouse droppings. Apparently the owner has had pest control people visit the cottage and they have said that 'this is not an infestation of flies', well I am speechless. The owner gave us very minimal compensation. We feel that we were ripped off. I wanted to write this review in a fair minded manner but this is the best I can do. We have been told that the owner will be making a comment on this review and obviously he will not be accepting what we have said but the above is true."

"A very quiet location, which more importantly was within reasonable driving distance of the places in north Norfolk we wanted to visit. Swaffham is a nice enough town with big Tesco, Waitrose, Costa etc. Lounge is lovely, nice sofas and pleasantly decorated. Bathrooms fine and good to have two toilets.Kitchen well equipped with toaster, kettle, fridge freezer, cooker etc, but the crockery and cutlery, although clean and in fair condition, was ancient and didn't fit well with the pleasant kitchen.Conservatory was nice and a good place for meals - could get a little chilly but a heater thoughtfully provided - and there were plenty of books and board games!Bedrooms also fine with one significant caveat - the main bedroom curtains were virtually seethrough - closer to net curtains than proper curtains, and this was a real issue in late May when it's getting light from 0430. We were regularly woken by the sun streaming in and I'd strongly recommend that these curtains are replaced.Overal I'd recommend the property for its quiet and convenient location - the issues are nothing that couldn't be solved with a quick trip to Ikea."

"We really enjoyed our stay. We were a short drive from any super markets so that was easy and within approx 45 mins there was a variety of different beaches, little pubs or sea side towns to enjoy. The cottage was on the owners land up a secluded farm track so although you had privacy and felt set back from every day life, I felt very safe and secure and once out the drive you didnt need to travel far to the nearest small town if you did need anything from any shops. The cottage was lovely. Bed was super comfy, sofa nice and comfy and had everything in the kitchen you could possibly need. It was also spotless and clean and decor was also lovely. Lots of local information packs also available so you could use them to plan your days out. I would be happy to return and use as a base and venture out on different days out around Norfolk."

"We had a long weekend break here. It was fabulous, the location is great, for peace & quiet. The cottage itself is so lovely. The owner met us with the key when we arrived, and showed us round. She had even made us a lovely lemon drizzle cake, and there was tea bags, coffee and milk in the fridge. Which was very welcomed as we had arrived later than expected. We were told where the local shops were, about 10 mins drive away. Where there was supermarkets, take aways, etc. We had plenty of logs for the log burner for the first day, then were able to buy some locally the next day. The weather, when we were there, was nice, albeit a bit cold. But we were lovely and cosy. The cottage throughout was very clean, and homely. We would definitely recommend a visit. We are hoping to visit again in the future."

"Beautifully clean cottage, comfy beds, gorgeous bathroom, had everything you needed in the kitchen. Lovely open fire. The cottage was lovely and spacious, separate living room full of books and games. Location was peaceful but not quite as rural as I was expecting. Hot tub was fabulous and fairly private being at the side of the house. The only complaint I had was we couldn't use the Bluetooth on the hot tub because there was no phone signal and the Wi-Fi signal wasn't strong enough to reach. Lovely welcome basket with prosecco and gowns and towels to use for the hot tub. I'd suggest taking some flip flops to wear to get to it. Overall a lovely romantic weekend, thank you"
