"Me and my grandparents had a wonderful stay here. We arrived after a 3 hour journey and with the helpful directions from the owners and also google maps found this cottage with no issues. The access from the main road leads on to a narrow lane but there are plenty of pull in areas and I never had a problem. The actual cottage was amazing and you can tell a lot of thought and love has gone in to the place. The owners left us had a bottle of homemade beer, homemade bread and also some local fresh farm eggs to get our holiday started which was a lovely touch. We were extremely lucky with the weather here in October and had some lovely days out but really enjoyed coming back to the cottage on an evening to cook and relax. I love to cook and this kitchen had everything I could possibly need, I was very impressed as I had brought a few bits with me just in case but didn't need to. We all spent many a cosy night with the log burner a blaze and wrapped up in throws, it was so relaxing. If we needed anymore wood for the fire we just had to phone or text the owners who were happy to get supplies and we just needed to pop the money in an envelope and post it through their door as they live in the cottage opposite. My Nan commented every day how comfy the bed was and how she'd had some of the best nights sleep here. We visited a few local places; Looe and also Talland bay but also travelled further a field to The lost gardens of heligan and Port Isaac. By the end of the holiday my Gramp didn't want to leave which is always a good sign and I think he felt very at home here. I would definitely recommend this holiday cottage as we all had such an amazing break away."

"From the moment we arrived following the clear instructions, Jean welcomed us to the cottage. She even had a traditional cream tea and big pot of tea for us. The cottage is set in a very quiet peaceful location but is within easy driving distance of local amenities and the beautiful south Cornwall fishing villages. The cottage sits in a large sloping garden which the kids loved. An atmospheric old track leads to the top of the Sibleyback dam within a 15 minute walk. The inside of the cottage is characterful and well appointed. The bathroom and kitchen are modern and have all the utensils and mod cons that make a holiday easier for everyone. The beds deserve a special mention and with the comfort and peace and quiet I slept the best I have done on any holiday I can remember. Jean put out some cushions on the front seating area when we were out on our first day and watching the local bats and listening for the owls in the quiet surroundings was joyful. The cottage is lively, the surroundings so peaceful and Jean is the perfect host being there if she is needed but not intrusive. It really felt like we were staying with an old friend. We will definitely return."

"I normally do not complain about many things at all. In this instance I shall make an exception however. We arrived at the cottage to find that the log fire was still full of ashes from the previous letting, the log basket was full of waste including and empty bag of coal. The paving on the way into the main entrance is lose and makes an awful racket as you cross into and out of the property. As you go into the cottage the floor tiles are loose and insecure, i lifted one out.The cooker was dirty and & my wife had to clean it before we could use it.The garden was beautiful and very well looked after, it was very secure and our dogs could roam freely and with no worry. The location is ideal right on the edge of Bodmin Moor, you are ideally placed to be within a short distance of many of Cornwall's amazing attractions. It is a real shame that the cottage is not looked after the same way as the garden because it has the potential to be a very nice letting but needs a lot more TLC.Pete"

"The one local amenity The Village Inn, was excellent. I would recommend this to able bodied people. The managers were very efficient and friendly. But if one of your party needs a really accessible property: There are grab rails around the downstairs toilet and a slope to the front door; Both upstairs and downstairs showers are over bath, not easy for the over 80's in our party and completely inaccessible for my father who needs assistance walking; there are no grab rails, or mirror, or towel rail, near the downstairs sink; without moving at least 2 of the ( very heavy and soft) chairs, there is no access to the dining table for a wheelchair. The grounds are lovely, but pushing a wheelchair on the loose stones was very difficult."

"Cosy cottage well situated for getting around the North part of Cornwall. Lovely rural situation for relaxing away from it all. Adjoins owners property who gave us a very warm welcome with a cream tea. Property would benefit from adequate draught exclusion provision as we were there when Storm Gareth hit and the stable doors were not adequately insulated although in summer are no doubt a delightful feature! The owners thankfully had kindly provided an additional heater but the property took a long time to warm up! The kitchen diner is small which was fine for us being 2 adults but would be a squeeze for 4. We found everything we needed was provided."
