"This is the second time I have stayed at Rowan Tree Cottage. The cottage is light and airy and is in a secluded and peaceful location. The cottage is well equipped and there is a tv in each room. The owner, Bob, is friendly and welcoming. There is no WiFi (I didn’t miss it) but this is available a short distance away at Glenshee Pottery and Cafe. The nearest supermarkets are in Blairgowrie, about 12 miles away but basics can be obtained from the post office at Bridge of Cally. There is wildlife in abundance in the area - a stoat, hare and roe deer visited the garden. It was relaxing to watch a wide variety of birds on the feeder just outside the window. The cottage is in a good location for visiting Perthshire and the Angus glens as well as Braemar and Balmoral."

"Wonderful size property with lots of room to spread out. Lovely features such as original fire places, sash windows and a wonderful staircase. Billiard room kept many occupied in the evenings whilst others enjoyed the peace of the drawing room. All bedrooms have their own en-suite (baths with showers over), these are spacious and all in our party of 10 slept well. As there is no pub within walking distance, the Bar had plenty of use, it's generously equipped with plenty of fridge space. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of areas for kids to play and explore. We used the external caterers recommended the owner for a 50th Birthday celebration. We would highly recommend these to anyone looking to have a special meal during their stay."

"The road up to the newer lodges is full of potholes that can't really be avoided. I suspect this is a work in progress. The Byron lodge itself is beautifully designed and decorated with fixtures and fittings of a high standard. One flaw we felt however is unlike the Muirloch lodges which have 2 doors into the bedroom (one dedicated door and the other via the bathroom) the Byron lodge has one door which goes into the bathroom from the living area meaning if your partner is in the bathroom you are trapped at either end. As these are essentially "couples" lodges this isn't a major issue however if you come away for a romantic weekend you don't particularly want to have to walk by your partner on the toilet.....it kind of ruins the magic."

"The cabin was great, the only downfall was there wasn't any instructions for the Sauna and when we figured out how to work it it just didn't heat up at all and didn't work so we didn't get to use this which was quite disappointing. Other than that the cabin was a lot more spacious than it looks in the pictures, I personally don't think the pictures do it justice. The hot tub was great. Maybe if you get more than one toilet roll and some washing up liquid it would also be a bit better! Other than that it is great value for money. I would advise them to get rid of carpets as well as when you are coming in and out from the hot tub the carpets end up soaking."

"Castleton House is a fantastic house especially for a large party (we were 10 in total plus 3 dogs). All the bedrooms were enormous with lovely furnishings in keeping with the house and spacious en suite bathrooms. The roomy living accommodation meant that we were never on top of each other and with plenty of entertainment from the billiard room, table tennis and board games, we were never short of things to keep us amused. The house was everything we had hoped for and more, a really enormous place with delightful furnishings and within easy reach of some interesting and beautiful places to visit from lovely beaches to historic houses; Angus has it all!"
