"For context, we're a couple with a dog. We usually prefer secluded cottages, but as it was a last minute booking we didn't have many options so went with a village location. The main reason for picking S37523 was the large private enclosed garden. It was very dog secure with large walls around more of the perimeter and some large fence panels. This allowed for our dog to be off lead and we could all relax. There are surrounding properties, but the high walls of the garden and the setup of the property made it feel private. To update on comments from previous visitors. The drive is looked over by the front of a neighbouring property - a recent dividing fence has been installed that helps. The property has been setup around the garden at the back so it's not too much of a problem once you're inside - although the front of the neighbouring property can see right into one of the bedrooms (easily fixed by closing the blind). As others have said, the layout means one of the bedrooms is accessed via the only bathroom. This wasn't a problem for us, but I can see why it could be awkward for friends and families with older children. That aside, the rest of the cottage is nicely setup - the living space is homely, and the upstairs space would be great for kids. All of the downstairs rooms can be opened out onto the large garden, which would be great on a warm day.Pros- Large dog secure garden- 3 pubs in walking distance, and a shop- Good location for tourist sites- Homely live space with several rooms opening out to garden- Upstairs bedroom space is great for kidsCons- The front facing neighbouring property- The property is generally clean and well equipped, but some of the crockery needs a deep clean- The towels provided were old and crunchy, suggest taking your own- One of the bedrooms being accessed through the only bathroom"

"No welcome from the owners never saw them once which is a disappointing.A lovely welcome pack. The lodge is looks tired in places. Could do with repainting in places like the bathroom ceiling. The bathroom sink is to small. After having a shower water from it went all over the bathroom floor. The freezer could do with defrosting.Could do with new table mats as the backs are coming off them. The extractor fan in the kitchen was filthy it needs a clean. The curtains could do with tie backs for them to stop them getting dirty and also could do with a new pair by the table and chairs as they are stained and dirty.Stunning views an very quiet and peaceful.Alpaca's was funny to watch everyday. It is the only lodge we have stopped in without a dishwasher would off be nice to have one of these there. The hot tub is the biggest we have ever been in wouldn't say its private in the daytime as workers around in the on the farm only could use it at night time. The only let down about the hot tub was all the conifers trees behind it filled up with leaves and branches everyday. Its the worst trees to put behind a hot tub. Good Location for Weymouth 30 Minute drive and Poole,Bounemouth and Brixham,Nearest town is Dorchester is about 20 minute drive. The village maiden Newton does a shop, chip shop which only saw it opened once during the week.A pub which never saw it open once and a petrol station and a coffee shop."

"This is the most spacious compact holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. A huge bedroom and relatively large kitchen/living area for a holiday cottage for only two people. It is beautifully decorated, as well as being clean and modern, it also contains everything you need for a week away. The village is quiet and the neighbourly cockerel wasn't too noisy in the morning. The broadband, the water pressure, the parking, the storage, the TV offering (and all those little things you don't think about until you miss them!) are excellent. We were made to feel very welcome and even had an Easter egg and delicious homemade shortbread upon arrival. Although there are no facilities in the village, we were close enough to other towns to buy whatever we needed. We could have spent 10 times longer in the area and still only do a fraction of what is on offer in this region of the UK. Next time, we would like to actually make it to the south coast."

"Sadly very disappointed, we have stayed here before with no complaints. This time however the property was sadly in need of a lot of TLC. The garden was scruffy the grass had not been cut and the patio full of weeds. The dog escaped through inadequatefencing. All the tea cups in the kitchen were either chipped, cracked, dirty or all of these. The oven was disgustingly dirty. The sink had not been cleaned properly, neither had the dishwasher, we had to buy rinse aid in order for the crockery and cutlery to regain their sparkle. There was a bowl of mouldy food left on the window sill. The grate had not been cleaned and was full of ash. The bathroom was not very clean and when the toilet was flushed water bubbled up through the shower plug.Shabby chic is fine but inadequate cleaning in the kitchen and bathroom is unacceptable for the price that we paid,lWe do feel that a part refund would be in order."

"Nice bungalow, very comfortable with everything we could possibly need. Friendly owner who showed us around and was helpful with local info and ideas of places to visit. The carparking space and turning area available were no problem at all for our small car but would perhaps be tricky for an estate/large family car or for anyone not too confident on manovering their vehicle. That said, the property was spacious, clean and the owner had thought of the little extras that make a self-catering holiday easier. Lots of books/dvds and an excellent washing machine and tumble dryer with a brilliant heated rail above for drying off items. We visited in February but I would imagine that in the spring/summer the gardens would be an added bonus. Bath is as lovely as I remembered it with loads to see and do. Great holiday 🙂"
