"We chose this cottage over others because it had internet: we have a 10 year old son who has a daily ration and we also needed to use it for information about the local area etc. However, the owners had just changed provider and needless to say it didn't work. The cottage info handbook had not been updated and so began a text to owners/email to service providers/visit to the cottage by the owners to try and put it right. However, it didn't get fixed, so we wasted lots of time and although the owners were apologetic and very nice they never offered us any token of compensation. Our son was disappointed and we were inconvenienced.Another disappointment was the old 'tube in the back' style tv, whose screen flickered and which was simply uncomfortable to watch, so we didn't. The cottage appeared plush on arrival but staying there for a few days it felt like the cottage had been left to go tired - it looks plush n posh so it'll be alright..that'll do.The windows in the master bedroom sounded like a set of bagbipes in the wind - and it was very windy, the plug mechanism in the bathroom sink didn't work so you had to empty out using fingers, there were posh plates etc in the kitchen but no foil, cling film or kitchen roll provided, both twin beds in the childrens' room were uncomfortable because you could feel the springs through the mattresses and even some of the pillows were lumpy! If the owners ever spent a night/morning there, it was a long time ago. We just felt like a money making opportunity on the side, which began with the owner turning up at the front door saying, 'Have you got firewood, I don't know if there's firewood, have they left firewood, let me know if you need any..?' There were no comments in the visitor's book since October 2017 - maybe people, like us, didn't want to express their disappointment that way. However, we must say that the heating was always on and the hot water was constant and abundant."

"The cottage is the epitome of shabby chic, it extremely comfortable and homely and the ideal location for a relaxed country getaway. The cottage is spacious therefore ideal for large families or groups of friends who want to spend time together but also want some privacy. The kitchen is well equipped and the large dining table is ideal for hosting large dinner parties. We took a murder mystery script with us but there are two sets to borrow in the library which I would recommend as the setting is perfect for a murder mystery party. Edward the proprietor is on hand to ask questions and is very accommodating and helpful. I would recommend the cottage and plan to return again in the future."

"We had an excellent holiday which was added to by the support we got from Edward and Yvonne, the owners. We had all ages with us and everyone found something they enjoyed. The house itself, despite its faded glory, quickly became a much loved place. The addition of the hot tub, the boat on the loch and the tree house as well as excellent walks and wildlife all made for a magical place for all ages especially the children. A full size snooker table, and the use of a badminton court added to the enjoyment.NB The warnings in the brochure about steep drops were unfounded and the banisters were perfectly safe, with child gates at the bottom and top of the stair. We loved it!"

"Booked for a 40th family birthday party. House is great, plenty of space for 10 people and a dog to run around! Nice big kitchen and lovely wood burner. The only things that cropped up were very minor, there are only 4 egg cups! So there were rounds of boiled eggs to be made for wee people in cycles, so firing in a few more egg cups would be useful for future folks. Two of the lamps weren't working either, just needed bulbs, couldn't find any spares to fit. So a few spare bulbs in a cupboard too maybe. I can't think of any other suggestions! These are obviously very minor things to fix. The house was perfect otherwise for us."

"We had a great stay here, 6 adults and 3 children. Plenty of room. Very peaceful and quiet. You do have to drive, a few little niggles, I did struggle sleeping in the last bedroom upstairs. Slightly uncomfortable mattress and very noisy floor boards. But not enough to spoil a very good week away. Lots of pans and dishes ect. I Would recommend having a second fridge as we did struggle fitting in our food and drinks. Kids were horrified that there was no wifi at 1st but even they wanted to stay longer. It made for good quality family and friends time. Defiantly would recommend."
