"Having links to the area, my fiancé and I rented out the Chateau for 5 nights in September 2013 for a wedding and holiday with close family and friends. The Chateau is a wonderful mix of being historic and regal, yet welcoming and informal at the same time. It is certainly big enough to cater for larger functions and groups but it always felt intimate and special. On a practical level, the rooms were all comfortable with their own characters and the kitchen was well equipped and large enough to cater for us all comfortably. There were a number of indoor common areas but most of our meals and time socialising were spent on the terraced area. Our wedding party was small (35 in total with 14 actually staying at the Chateau) and the size of it worked perfectly at the Chateau. The ceremony was held in the Great Hall, drinks and aperitives were on the terrace and the sit down meal was served in the Orangery. Martine and Jean-Marie were excellent - listening to us and making suggestions with regard to location and layout for the ceremony and reception, then going out of their way to ensure that things were perfect for the day. I can honestly say that the whole wedding day would not have gone as smoothly without all their help and hard work. The photographers were also spoilt for choice for interesting and varied backdrops to the photographs with the stunning chateau interior, gardens and vineyards all within the Chateau grounds. This meant that the time required for photographs was kept to a minimum and we were able to spend more time with our guests on the day. It made for a truly spectacular setting for a wedding and an unforgettable holiday - highly recommended."

"The journey to the villa from Avignon winds up the mountains, through small villages with treelined views across the valleys. The Chateau is a five minute walk from a typical, French village, with a butcher, two bakers, two convenience stores, small playground and a few cafes. The drive down dirt road to the Chateau gives the right amount of mystery and then you see the building in all its glory, nestled between the trees and two acres of grass (bring a football, cricket stumps or rounders bat). Our four year old ran across the lawn, past the fountain with a newt and goldfish to the electric fence (needed to be there to keep the wild boars from entering during late August only), and then to the river, where he spent hours playing in the stream - this is not for swimming at this point. The truly amazing married housekeepers Elodie (French) and Edward (English) made sure that every request was answered promptly, showed us where there was a secret plunge pool, provided cider (provided by his own fair hands) and generally ensured that this week between 17 members of my family (aged 4 to 81) was one that will live in our memories as an extraordinary moment in time. The Chateau, the interior design, the bedrooms and all that one would expect was first class. We went canyoning (great fun), went swimming in the nearby lake, went tree top climbing (not for the faint hearted) and enjoyed evenings on the terrace with great food and stunning wines. We have to congratulate the owners for putting love and life back into this building. Thank you."

"We enjoyed an wonderful week over Christmas with our large family group in this amazing Chateau. The Chateau is warm and very comfortable with all the charm of a 450 year old castle, huge fireplace, grand living rooms and turrets yet it has all the creature comforts we also expect. It is very suitable for large groups including children as some of the main bedrooms have smaller bedrooms leading off them. Plenty of bathrooms. The grounds are extensive and private. The host and her charming family live on a separate housekeeper's residence within the grounds and are there for any help and advice on the village and the region. She cooked two medieval style feasts for us during our stay (catering for 16 people) which were very memorable. There are a number of lovely villages and towns within 1 hour drive but we had just as much fun hanging around the Chateau and local the walks. The Chateau would be even better in the summer months when the large pool and outdoor terraces could be utilised. I have no hesitation in giving this Chateau a 5 star recommendation!"

"If you are having any reservations or doubts in booking Aranton, then i can assure there is no need., The 14 of us had the most wonderful stay in this very comfortable spacious property. The property is roughly 90mins from Toulouse airport, which is a relatively easy trip up the motorway. The property is well equipped and the owners have thought of everything, with both a well equipped kitchen and games room. The property not only benefits from a lovely dining room but there is multiple terraces to eat outside and enjoy a BBQ overlooking the wonderful views. Both Tony and Nicette are very helpful and wonderful hosts recommending an excellent vineyard to do a wine and armac tasting. The town of condom is less than 10minutes away and has very characterful square and two excellent supermarkets, even a friendly rugby bar that put on the England game for us. There is also many other lovely medieval villages to explore in the area, with markets."

"We are just back from our trip to France and wanted to let you know that we had the most wonderrful time at Villa La Plaine. You have built something very special - so peaceful, so calm, so welcoming, so perfectly blended into the stunning surroundings, so beautiful. Sitting outside and watching the colour of the field across the valley change from early morning pale grey to bright mid-afternoon yellow and green to twilight gold was a simple, unforgettable pleasure; as was watching the deer and the soaring eagles, and listening to the bird song and the hum of a thousand insects. One day we had storms - dark clouds, heavy thinder, flashing lightning, pouring rain - towards evening, though, things calmed down and through the showers a perfect rainbow appeared. Attached is a photo. Thank-you for building Villa La Plaine and for giving us a fortnight of bliss we will treasure forever. We hope that you get to enjoy it again very soon."
