"Just returned from a weeks' stay at Church Barn Le Grande and overall very impressed with both the barn itself and the facilities. Great to be able to park both vehicles under cover right next to the barn entrance, which made for easy unloading and loading of the car. The barn itself certainly offers the 'wow' factor - on entering through the front door, you are straight into the dining/kitchen area (seating for 6 at the glass-topped dining table) with high ceiling and patio door leading to large wrap-around enclosed garden which the dogs thoroughly enjoyed. The kitchen was fairly well-equipped with an electric 4-hob on the island and two ovens situated at chest height facing this. Plenty of drawers and cupboards for utensils, pots and pans - if you're big into cooking and aim to make use of the facilities a few times, items such as a measuring jug, slotted spoon and a potato masher were lacking, but due to past self-catering experience these had been packed just in case! Dining, side plates, bowls and wine and champagne glasses were pentiful, as were mugs - athough water glasses/tumblers were in short supply. A wide wooden staircase leads up to the very comfy 'lounge area' complete with roomy leather sofas, large wooden coffe table and wall-mounted, decent sized flat screen tv, complete with Bose sound bar. Dvd player and Sky box completed the entertainment system - couldn't seem to access the movie channel though, or download programmes to the Sky box due to inactive/incorrect codes. The bedrooms were roomy, and well equipped with excellent storage options and plenty of coat hangers. The smaller double ensuite to the right of the barn entrance would have benefited from a king size bed in our opinion to make things fairer for two couples, but not a major issue. Beds were on the firm side and additional pillows were available. Both bathrooms were nicely proportioned with the larger of the two offering a huge rectangular bath tub and his and her basins. The barn also offers a double and single bed in the family room up a small, narrow flight of stairs to the rear with skylight windows - this room shares the bathroom which is just next door to the superking bedroom. Our stay at Church Barn was relaxing and it was a great place to come back to after a long day out, thoroughly recommend and would certainly consider another stay there if there weren't so many other places we want to explore in this amazing country of ours!"

"This is an ideal cottage if you enjoy walking and peace & quiet. Located within the Hucking Estate which is managed by the Woodland Trust, you can roam for hours and ideal if you have a dog. You would definanetley need a transport. However, the cottage was pretty basic. The washer/dryer, oven and dishwasher didn't work properly. The shower leaked under the bath so the bathroom floor needed mopping every time you had a shower. Damp was on the wall in the large bedroom. The wall in question was next to the bathroom. Cobwebs on the ceiling light fittings and around the ceiling walls. Not enough storage for groceries so had to rearrange the work tops to find a space for everything that we had and we didn't have a lot. The kitchen tap constantly dripped and looking back in the visitors book this and the shower had been a long standing problem which hadn't been fixed. The hand and bathroom towels that were left for our use were very 'rough'. It was like drying with sandpaper.Garden was large and semi secure."

"As we took our two dogs it was well positioned next to the country park for walks and exercise. I failed to notice there was no enclosed area for them on the details. The barn conversion is cute but the white wooden floor boards are noisy and with gravel drive entering into the barn this was a challenge to keep clean. Decorated in a charming way particularly if you had 2 small children to sleep in the cupboard room which had fairy lights. I do not think it is suitable for dogs. Well positioned for London. Very pretty position but not sure what it would be like in the summer being right next to the horses and with limited ventilation. This is a central cottage of 3 and beware that the walls are very thin."

"Wonderful location and we both enjoyed our stay at Woodside for the two nights that we hired the cottage for in December. We were married on the grounds inside a beautiful church and ceremony was just magical. You must endeavour to visit Dode Church during your stay and take in the breathtaking views inside and out. There are some lovely walking areas for a good old ramble, a few local village pubs serving good food and at the end of the day you can have a relaxing soak back at the cottage in the hot tub which we enjoyed. Although there is no mobile phone reception due to poor signal there is a payphone at the cottage that can be used if needed. We would definitely go back again!"

"Property was larger and nicer than the pictures show. a good location. Plenty to do in the Kent area. Really good to get an Easter treat for the kids and to have biscuits and milk ready for our arrival. My one suggestion would be to lay off the 'property inspection'. Advised on arrival that there would be an 'inspection' on the last day. Night before we left, we were asked what time we were leaving so that the 'inspection' could be carried out. Then on deparature day the property was checked before we left.I would recommend the owner to take out property insurance or to leave an honesty envelope for broken items. (Inspection also mentioned in the property guide book)."
