"The location of this property is pretty spectacular as it is directly on the beach. However there can be a downside to this as we weren't lucky with the weather so it was a cold, very windy week for us and we were lashed with sand. The location may be perfect in different weather. We found the property itself comfortable upstairs in the bedrooms. The downstairs seemed to be a strange mixture of things that didn't match and weren't essential, lots of bits and pieces and purely decorative things, not really appropriate for a family with a toddler. When we arrived the cot we had asked for hadn't been put up, we struggled for awhile to get it up and couldn't, so we called the numbers provided, no-one responded. The highchair hadn't been cleaned from the last family who had used it. There was some problem with ants for previous guests and this had been treated with ant powder on the floor in the kitchen and living areas. Ant powder is toxic to a toddler so we were surprised this had been left on the floor. However we enjoyed our day trips to Hastings and Rye which are easily accessible by bus/car."

"We had a lovely few days at Little Brook. The accommodation was quite luxurious and the location is fab. I imagine in better weather it would be lovely to sit out on the balcony with a sundowner, listening to the birds. Given the time of year and the fact we were only there for a few days we couldn't take advantage of visiting the many attractions in the area, but Rye itself is a great place to wander round, and we had a great walk round the nature reserver on Sunday morning. Would recommend The Globe Inn Marsh in Rye, and The Red Lion in Brede for food and drink. We went home via Battle Abbey which is only about a 20 minute drive from the cottage.Janet looked after us very well providing scones on our arrival, plus some fizz and chocolates as it was Valentine's.The only thing to consider if choosing Little Brook is that you really need to drive to get anywhere. Again, in the summer, I think you could have days out visiting NT properties, gardens etc. and then spend the evenings back "at base"."

"The cottage is very well-equipped and plenty big enough for a family of four in a beautiful spot right on Camber Sands lovely natural beach. This can be a slight problem when the winds are strong, as it has a "sandstorm" effect which makes being outdoors rather unpleasant. There was no warning of this prior to our visit and it spoiled our enjoyment somewhat in the early part of our week's holiday. However, when this dies down, we found it to be one of the best spots we have ever stayed in. Camber Sands itself, though, is very run down and does not have sufficient amenities to serve a family - one small supermarket at Pontins with absolute rip-off prices (captive market!), few places to eat out (some of which inexplicably stop serving food at tea-time!!) All-in-all we were left with very mixed emotions about the place, as we loved the cottage and the beach but are unlikely to return to the resort."

"An idyllic cottage and environment for those seeking peace and relaxation. Elegantly and tastefully furnished and decorated. The location is ideal as a base from which to explore Kent and East Sussex. However, it would need a lot of prior Ordnance Survey work to take advantage of local walks and even a stroll to the next village, pub or shops would be difficult on foot without a knowledge of cross-country short-cuts because the only road has no pavements and only a narrow grass verge. This said, a great deal of thought imagination and creativity has gone into this wonderful little cottage which we we recommend to anyone not desperate for an 'all-singing, all-dancing' escape from the the trappings of the frenetic 21st century."

"We had an amazing time here. Just the fact that you can wake up with the sound of the ocean and open the door and step unto the beach is just a dream come true. The cottage was clean and week equipped. There were even games, cd's, books and beach toys. The only thing that was a little less amazing was the water pressure when you're in the shower. It's a small stream, just enough to get clean and stay warm. Other than that the cottage feels like a cozy home with great paintings, lots of space and don't forget an ocean that changes every hour with the tides. One moment it's a minute away and few hours later it's a 15 minute walk to reach the waves. Very exciting!"
