"Framlington villa is perfectly placed for anyone wanting a quiet retreat whilst still having some excellent amenities not too far away. The villa is extremely well equipped and warm and comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, one with a shower and the other with a contemporary bath (very attractive but not very practical - this is the only criticism we have of the villa!) The setting is rural and extremely relaxing. There is a short walk up to the village where you will find a warm welcome at `The Village Inn` and I can definitely recommend the fish and chips there! There is another eatery just a stones throw away `The Granby` which provides an extensive menu. The village hosts a small grocers shop and there is an artisan bakery `The Running Fox` which incorporates a cafe. The food here is excellent, we had the small fox cub cooked breakfast which was delicious and hearty. The bread and pastries were delightful and the quiche and scones are highly recommended! Framlington Villa is perfectly placed for anyone wishing to visit Northumberland, it`s beautiful coastline and villages and towns of historical interest. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and will definitely re-visit in the future."

"We had a great weekend staying in this warm and spacious house over easter weekend. It sleeps 10 but there was only 8 of us. Fantastic scenery and surroundings- perfect for walkers. There were a few cobwebs in the downstairs toilet but was overall very clean. The bedding is really good quality which makes for a comfortable sleep. Plenty of fluffy towels are provided aswell.Generally really well kitted out although we could have done with some extra cutlery as after we had dinner it meant we didn't have enough for breakfast the next morning. A mop also would have been useful. The owner was easily contactable and there was a really nice touch with a bottle of wine and some posh chocolates left for us on arrival. He also kindly left a bag of charcoal as I had advised him we may have a BBQ- which thankfully with the great weather we did!Great cottage for large group with great garden!"

"The central-heating thermostat is... guesswork, at best. No instructions, and it seems to keep on resetting itself every few hours. Not a massive inconvenience or hassle, but... not a smooth hassle-free experience either. For me personally, none of the sofas were overly comfortable - again, not a massive problem, but a constant niggle. And finally, if you (Sykes and/or the property owner) are going to make the renter get £100 in cash for the 'housekeeping bond', at least make the effort to collect it. Or just sack off the requirement completely. Either way. But making *such* a big deal about it (it's on every confirmation, and on the description page on Sykes) and then not bothering about it again just makes it feel like "Well, that was pointless and annoying"."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Low Town cottage. The hosts were very kind and welcoming, the cottage is set in wonderful countryside and in a good location for historic surrounding towns. The cottage was warm and cosy and it was lovely to return We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Low Town cottage. Our hosts were warm and friendly and very welcoming. The cottage is set in wonderful countryside and the village people were very welcoming. The cottage is warm and cosy and it was nice to return after a day’s sightseeing. If the weather was wet you could curl up with a good book or watch television. The location of the cottage is excellent being well placed to enable visits to historic towns - Alnick, Morpeth etc. Aug 2011."

"The cleanliness, style, design, comfort was incredible. It was like a home from home. The best of furnishings have been used and the location is to die for. Sitting in the gorgeous open plan ground floor we had a different stunning view out every one of the 4 windows and French Doors. We will certainly recommend this to our friends and will be back again in future years.Impeccable throughout. Tastefully decorated and furnished, immaculate. Rothbury is a beautiful place, with lots of great walks throughout the Coquet Valley.Beautifully furnished and well equipped. Perfect location for exploring the area with plenty of local walks and easy access to the coast, Alnwick and Kielder Water."
