"We booked for a week but only stayed 4 nights, the living room seats were very uncomfortable, by this time we both had very bad backache. Also we went when it was quite cold, the living room fire was good when on but as soon as you turned it off it soon got cold. The kitchen was very cold, we used the hoover which was absolutely full of dirt, my partner sorted this out, something you shouldn't be doing on your holidays. The kitchen tops had crumbs on, which I would of thought the cleaner should of sorted, also the utensils hadn't been cleaned properly, this is disappointing when you've been looking forward to a break. The shower was not good, lacking in power, as hard as you tried you couldn't avoid getting water all over the floor, this to me was an accident waiting to happen, also it was hot one minute but then soon went cold, couldn't wait to get back home for a decent shower, and not very pleasant to go back into the bathroom, it was a full mop up each time you had a shower, and took a while to dry, the shower screen was far too close to the door, a curved shower door would of been better. One of the torches wasn't working, although a small thing, the cleaner should be checking things like this, the back of the remote control was missing, this to me is not taking care to make sure everything is in working order. It's a shame when you spend money and don't get the value of your stay, I hate to be so negative but there's no point in me saying any different.I hate to bring this up but after 3 nights I had very itchy legs to the point of bleeding, I can only assume this was the bed, I never get rashes like this, so this was another reason not to stay any longer. So all in all not what we expected, a shame."

"Booked to come here for 5 nights for a girly time away from our busy jobs. It’s been wonderful, we had access to Netflix, UKTV and freeview via the tv. There was internet access and a couple of games to play if we needed entertainment. The kitchen was big enough to cook a full meal in and the supplies provided covered a wide range of cooking styles (larger frying pan, pans, wooden spoons, chopping boards etc). The pressure in the shower was beautiful - always appreciate a decent shower. Bathroom was large and airy with plenty of storage. A variety of towels were also available along with a cute little pack with soap, shampoo and body wash. Dishwasher tablets and tablets for the washing machine were also provided, with a small collection of cleaning supplies under the sink. It was a very comfortable few nights away. Everything we could need or want during our time away was available. Everyone we met around the castle were friendly and ready to offer advice on how best to enjoy our time. The grounds themselves were beautiful. The stairs up to the room are difficult for those not fully able but they are beautiful. There is plenty of signage around to direct you to where you need to go. Before arrival we received an email with detailed instructions on how to find our way to the castle and up to our room, along with where to park and codes to gain access to keys. However, the central heating does make some strange noises but we found them rather comical. Overall, it’s been a wonderful time away and we got a lot more than we expected from our stay! Thankyou for making us feel so welcome and for allowing us to experience your wonderful castle and gardens."

"Cosy compact cottage. Pleased to see good size shower room with excellent shower and bath sheets. TV was adequate, no humming as reported in other reviews. Needs to be set on channel 2 then use digibox and make sure the scart lead is connected as we had problems to begin with but soon solved. Real flame gas fire cosy in evenings when cool and the owner did put the heating on when cold. An earlier review complained about the mattress - now has a foam topper in place. We had no problems sleeping. A paradise for golfers - about 26 courses in the area we were told. Do play the Glen at North Berwick if you do golf, beautiful scenery but 3-4 hills. Excellent food at the Longniddry Arms - do book if you are going. Great train service to Edinburgh and Musselburgh Races. (An enjoyable day out). Would stay again. Downside - no Wifi."

"As well as being beautifully decorated and furnished, the owner had gone to great lengths to stock the house with many extras:cleaning materials and even basic medical stocks and stuff for the dogs. Beds were super comfy and the house as cosy as you wanted it to be with a very modern “nest “heating system. The location is great, right at the harbour, where there is always something going on and a short walk to the East beach which is great for looking in rock pools! There are lovely independent shops on the high street and plenty cafes to choose from. There was plenty for us to do in the locality : walks to Belhaven beach and the East Beach. There is a great modern pool and leisure centre close to the harbour so it’s worth packing your swimming things. Overall, we enjoyed this house and Dunbar very much."

"This is a cottage that would be wonderful for disabled people of all abilities. The bedrooms all have garden views. The bathrooms were spotless and well thought out. There was enough space to move, which is important when you're disabled or don't like to bump your elbows on the walls! The whole cottage's layout was really good. If you didn't want to be disturbed by the TV you could sleep in the bedroom at the opposite end of the bungalow. The walls are very thick so sound didn't travel far. There was a substantial welcome pack, which always puts a smile on my face - I don't have to go searching for the tea bags immediately on arrival! The area was very quiet. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The information in the cottage about places to see and eat was very informative. We'll definitely return."
