Ringwood is largely unspoilt by the march of time, and still enjoys a weekly street market on Wednesdays. Found on the banks of the River Avon, there is plenty of local walking to enjoy; including the Avon Valley Path. The short trip into the New Forest offers even more outdoor activities to enjoy. From further walking routes to brilliant cycling opportunities, this gorgeous part of the UK is well worth exploring.

"Cottage was lovely apart from the very dated kitchen, old storage heaters and the very uncomfortable lower ground floor bedroom bed. Cleanliness was good apart from the windows which were very smeared. Location was quiet and a short walk to the shop and pub. There was nothing else in the village so was always a car journey to get about but not a problem. Recommendations: its nice to enter a warm place but it was like an oven when we arrived. A better heating solution is needed as the storage heater are all or nothing. Considering the price the kitchen needs replacing, it's not big so wouldnt take too much to do. All the furniture is old and mis matched. Unlike a lot of cottages we have rented there was no welcome note or package and no milk in the fridge (the small touches go a long way). I know all of this is personal taste but i believe everyone who stayed here would have a better experience if these changes were done. I would still stay again but only for the location and space and not for the quality of accommodation. And final point what a shame that we had to pay £300 more than a normal week just because it was school half term, greedy."

"This is the most spacious compact holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. A huge bedroom and relatively large kitchen/living area for a holiday cottage for only two people. It is beautifully decorated, as well as being clean and modern, it also contains everything you need for a week away. The village is quiet and the neighbourly cockerel wasn't too noisy in the morning. The broadband, the water pressure, the parking, the storage, the TV offering (and all those little things you don't think about until you miss them!) are excellent. We were made to feel very welcome and even had an Easter egg and delicious homemade shortbread upon arrival. Although there are no facilities in the village, we were close enough to other towns to buy whatever we needed. We could have spent 10 times longer in the area and still only do a fraction of what is on offer in this region of the UK. Next time, we would like to actually make it to the south coast."

"The cottage was lovely, but, because we were there for 2 weeks, I didn't really feel it was set up for a long stay....there were no chest of drawers at all, so we lived out of bags as there was no where apart from a wardrobe to put clothes. Its dog friendly, and we took our 2, but in order to keep the place clean, i.e. muddy floors, we had to go to the pub and ask for a mop and bucket and a hoover. There was no clean towels or bed linen to be able to change during our stay, but was told after a week in, that, yet again, if we went to the pub, they would give us some. At no point were we asked if everything was ok. Internet was intermittent, but after several visits, to, yes, the pub, it was resolved.Sofa in the living room was uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time.Great for a short weekend stay, not ideally equipped for any longer."

"Lovely cottage in an excellent position for exploring the south coast. Within easy driving distance of all of: Bournemouth, Poole, Portsmouth, Southampton and even Brighton. The lodge itself was well presented and in a secluded location. We can overlook the awful road that leads to and from the cottage as this proved to only slightly impact our stay. The sofa wasn't very comfortable and the WiFi access was poor. The kitchen was well equipped for what we needed, and we made use of some of the games (a great addition). There was an excellent view every morning of the horses, and other wildlife, something that we really appreciated. I feel like the location played a massive part in the enjoyment of our stay."

"Overall this was a fantastic place in which to spend Christmas. Very large and our party of 11, including two teens, loved it. Only issue was that the 1st floor shower in the east end of the property leaked into the ground floor bedroom, with water dripping from the ceiling beam onto the wooden floor. There was staining on the wood, so this had obviously happened before but there was no warning of it and the wet floor would have been dangerous (e.g. for a disabled person) if not spotted. A baking tray was hastily put in place to catch the drips. And - any pianists out there - the piano is not in tune but is playable. We managed Bach's double violin concerto with piano accompaniment - just!"
