In a truly stunning rural location, surrounded by 450 acres of mountain farmland, and situated on a working sheep farm, Ceunant is a charming Welsh stone farmhouse dating back to the 16th century. Retaining original oak beams throughout along with a magnificent inglenook fireplace, it just oozes charm and character, and a more efficient system heating system has been installed in 2021. Accessed across fields on a private farm track, its location in the stunning Cwm Cywarch Valley affords a real get away from it all break.

A true walker’s paradise with fantastic outdoor activities on your doorstep. From dramatic Cwm Cywarch you can join the route to the summit of Aran Fawddwy at almost 3000 ft, one of the great walks of Snowdonia. The scenery is superb with deep valleys and rolling hills, perfect for getting away from the crowds.

Just a short drive back down the valley takes you to the little village of Dinas Mawddwy with a village inn and small shop. A little further afield are the charming market towns of Machynlleth and Dolgellau, both with a good selection of shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs. There are plenty of interesting places to visit in southern Snowdonia, including the Cader Idris mountain sitting proudly above Dolgellau, and the Mawddach Trail and Coed y Brenin Forest Park for mountain biking and walking trails. The coast is also within easy reach for great family day trips as well as train rides on the Talyllyn Railway and an osprey viewing centre. Shop and pub 3½ miles, restaurant 5½ miles.

Due to constant rain we only managed a couple of walks - hence we got very familiar with the cottage and the pub. The cottage is very warm and cosy and well equipped kitchen wise. Our host was very kind and attentive & the location of the cottage is jaw dropping. We really enjoyed our stay , though I would say watch your head.
