    About this property

Llanbedr 1 mile. This fantastic, traditional and substantial Welsh Grade II listed property is nestled against the hillside, set at the foot of the Rhinog Mountains and opposite the banks of the River Artro, which flows majestically down from Cwm Bychan in the little hamlet of Pentre Gwynfryn, in the Snowdonia National Park. Gwynfryn House is arranged over three floors, with the ground floor layout being split level which gives a unique feel to this wonderful holiday home and there is plenty of room to accommodate a group of friends or family. Dating from the 1800s, Gwynfryn House is tastefully decorated throughout and retains much of its original character, such as the servants bells in the dining room, all cleverly combined with modern day comforts, with contemporary pieces adding to the properties overall charm and character. On the ground floor you'll find a lovely sitting room (formerly a shop!) with a combination of dark wood panelling and tall windows and a large fireplace with a warming wood burning stove which entices you to just relax and snuggle into the comfy leather sofas after a bust day out and about. The fitted kitchen is well equipped, cooking should be a delight for the chef in the family, you can choose to have breakfast here in the morning with more formal dining in the attractive dining room in the evening. The ambience in here, along with the log burner housed in the fireplace, will make it very difficult to move from the table! Arranged on the first and second floors are six, individually styled bedrooms, three bathrooms and two cloakrooms, with the main family bathroom boasting a wonderful free standing roll top bath with claw feet, perfect for indulging yourself with some much needed pampering. Outside, accessed over a bridge from the utility room on the second floor is a hidden garden, perfect for a BBQ or the patio at the front of Gwynfryn House is an ideal place to sit and relax, enjoying an early morning cuppa. The pretty village of Llanbedr is a mile down the road and has two great pubs serving good food, a village shop and a charming tea room. The surrounding area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with many renowned walks, Cwm Nantcol, Cwm Bychan and the Roman Steps are all close by, and there are some great mountain biking trails, there is even cycle hire available in the village. Just two miles away are the beaches of Shell Island and within three miles is the World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle, along with the delightful town itself and its wonderful six miles of sands, watched over by the excellent St. David’s links golf course. This is an excellent family base for discovering the stunning scenery of the Snowdonia National Park and the nearby spectacular coastline of Cardigan Bay anytime of the year.

The pretty village of Llanbedr nestles in ancient woodland between The Rhinogs, part of the Snowdonia Mountains, and the stunning golden beaches of the North Wales coastline. Situated next to the beautiful River Artro, and boasting a mild climate due to its unusual positioning behind the high dunes of a nature reserve, this charming village has an exciting array of wildlife and birds, handy local shops, bike hire and mountain walks on your doorstep, as well as two excellent pubs.

" We used "instant chat" for the first time which we found very helpful. Gwynfryn House was the perfect holiday home for our family get together. Thank you "
    Mrs Schreurs ‐ 1 Jul 2019
" That we really enjoyed! There are many walks to be made in the countryside directly from the house, and the shopping can be done within a beautiful 20 min walk through the woods to the village. "
    Mr Sanders ‐ 1 Jun 2019
" Slightly eccentric, with a wide variety of old and modern furniture and fittings, which adds to the charm. There's even a second staircase for no apparent reason! Probably not suitable for anyone with serious mobility difficulties, as there are quite a few steps up and down between rooms, but we had one person who walks with a stick who managed fine, so not too much of a problem. There's also a really nice barbecue area which is accessed from a door on the second floor(!) . "
    Mrs Hulin ‐ 1 May 2019
    "Very quirky and clean."
    - Mr Raine, August 2019
"With all the rooms and facilities a combined family group of eight needs, the house was well-appointed and perfect for all ages (our group was 6 years old to 70 years old)."
