About this property

A secluded farmhouse in a stunning location within the Snowdonia National Park, sleeping 7, benefiting from WiFi, games room, wood-fired hot tub and private fishing lake. Beaches, mountains, lakes and other attractions all within easy reach.

This spacious, detached farmhouse, dating back in part to the 16th century, is situated in a stunning, secluded location on the lower slopes of Cadair Idris, within 5 miles of Dolgellau. The house benefits from full central heating, WiFi (can sometimes be slow due to the nature of the surrounding land), games room and wood-fired hot tub. An excellent location for walking, with footpaths from the door, as well as mountain biking at Coed-y-Brenin (12 miles) and plane spotting: the house is on the Mach Loop, with jets and other aircraft occasionally on low-flying exercises. The picturesque Tal-y-Llyn Lake is just 5 miles down the road and there are many long, sandy beaches along this stretch of South Snowdonia coastline, including Barmouth, Fairbourne, Llwyngwril, Tywyn and Aberdyfi, all within about 15 miles.

The farmhouse retains many beams, some stone walls and slate floors, adding to its character with some lovely antique furniture.

We all really enjoyed the stay. Right up there with other similar properties we have used and better than most in nearly every way. Well done.
