About this property

Yr Efail Swynol is an 18th Century former blacksmith's forge in the small village of Llanllechid, right on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, just over 2 miles from Bethesda.

Yr Efail Swynol (The Enchanted Forge) is an 18th Century former blacksmith's forge, converted in the 1970s and recently modernised to create a thoughtfully equipped home-from-home holiday cottage. The small village of Llanllechid is right on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, just over 2 miles from Bethesda, for the hugely popular zip wires, 5 miles to the city of Bangor, 8 miles to Anglesey and 14 miles to Conwy.

The lounge, two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and dining room are on one level, ideal for people with limited mobility, with just one small step to negotiate. The entrance porch has storage for coats and muddy boots; this leads into the large beamed lounge with a huge inglenook fireplace and a woodburning stove to relax by after a day out! There are comfortable sofas, Freeview TV/DVD/radio/music docking system/Xbox 360 and WiFi. Also provided is a good selection of games, books, puzzles and films. The separate dining area has a table and chairs; this leads to the galley kitchen which is equipped with a fridge, freezer, electric hob and oven, microwave, coffee machine and slow cooker. A small utility room houses the washer/dryer with some extra room for coat/bag storage. The ground floor bathroom is spacious, including a corner bath with shower over. There are three bedrooms; a super king size and a twin on the ground floor  and a first floor twin in the eaves. Oil central heating. The enclosed garden has a patio, garden furniture and barbeque. Private parking for one car, further parking on the quiet lane.

The small village of Rachub, 10 minutes' walk away, has a local shop, pub and children's play park. Bethesda has more pubs, cafes and a small Tesco store. Yr Efail Swynol is right on the edge of the Carneddau mountains with great walking and biking from the door, plenty of local information available for you in the property. Zip World in Bethesda is one of North Wales's top attractions, set in the spectacular slate quarries. A short drive away is Greenwood Forest Park, always a winner with the kids. Beyond that you have the National Trust property of Penrhyn Castle, the beaches of the North Wales coast and Anglesey, mountain and road biking, climbing and sea cruises, swimming in the sea or lakes, all this within a short drive!

What an amazing find! Equipped like 'home from home' and what a lovely welcome pack. Thank you so very much for allowing us to rent this cottage. Excellent location for great walks with some superb cafes (Fitzpatricks) and pub/bistro/restaurants (Dylan's). We will be back!
