About this property

Carw is a lovely, traditional stone-fronted holiday cottage in a Snowdonia village just outside of Betws y Coed. Original features, like the stunning fireplace that now houses a woodburner. This is a bright and welcoming holiday cottage that’s close to many of Snowdonia’s best attractions, walks and cycle routes.

You’ll enter into a bright and cheerful open plan living space which is home to the sitting area, dining area and kitchen. The sitting space is cosy as it’s focused around the woodburning stove. There’s a sofa and bucket chairs and a wall-mounted TV with Free-sat. The dining area has a table and chairs seating up to four people.

The kitchen has all you need to make self catering easy - a dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven, hob and washing machine.

A doorway from the kitchen leads out into the bathroom with a shower over the bath, hand basin, loo.Via the bathroom is access to a small courtyard with a bistro style table and open access onto a footpath that leads out onto the street behind.

Both bedrooms are on the first floor. There’s a double room with king sized bed and a bunk room with sturdy bunks which are also suitable for adults.

Pull on your walking boots at Carw’s front door and head straight out on a magical scenic walk in this gorgeous part of Snowdonia. Gwydir Forest Park is close by, as are the Penmachno Mountain Bike Trails. A short drive takes you to the picturesque village of Betws Y Coed or venture further afield to Blaenau Ffestiniog where you’ll find the Llechwedd Slate Caverns and Bounce Below. This is a truly spectacular part of North Wales, whether you’re looking for an active or relaxing break, you can have that at this sweet holiday cottage.

The small, peaceful village of Penmachno is situated in the beautiful Machno Valley, just 4 miles from the popular town of Betws-y-Coed. Surrounded by woodland, magnificent mountains and flowing rivers, the whole area is a haven for walkers, birdwatchers, mountain bikers and climbers, whilst Betws-y-Coed itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and cafes. Here the River Conwy meets its three tributaries, creating a host of cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges throughout the surrounding countryside, the most famous of which is the magnificent waterfall at Swallow Falls, situated where the River Llugwy meets with a spectacular chasm, creating a sight not to be missed! The beautiful Conwy Falls are also well worth a visit and are situated in the Machno Valley. With all of Snowdonia to explore and North Wales' Heritage Coastlines also within easy reach, this beautiful location has plenty to offer at any time of year.
