Escape to the Country! This cosy barn conversion sits just outside the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with views over Crychan Forest.

Escape to the country! This lovely, rural location is ideal for walkers, cyclists and mountain biking, star-gazers, birdwatchers and lovers of the great outdoors. Spend a relaxing holiday admiring the views, appreciating the Dark Skies at night, or get out and about on foot or by bike.The Byre is a conversion of part of a barn (the remainder used for owners' storage), overlooking open farmland and the wooded hills of the Crychan Forest beyond. The property is most suitable for a couple, or family of two adults and two children.The owners live in the adjacent former farmhouse, and keep free range chickens. A Welcome Pack of local produce, including some of their free range eggs, will be waiting for you on arrival.

On the ground floor of The Byre is a good-sized kitchen diner with a dining table, chairs and pew seating, and a small corner kitchen area with electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave and fridge with icebox. A separate small sitting room has two sofas, FreeSat TV with DVD player, WiFi (see note below) and a woodburning stove in the corner. There is a shared external utility room to the side of the property, with washing machine and tumble dryer for guest use (and a separate washer/dryer for owners' use) and space for drying and storing walking gear. There is a hifi system in the double bedroom and a good selection of books and games. To the first floor, the cottage has three bedrooms, a double and two singles, and a bathroom with shower over the bath, WC and basin. The property sits in extensive shared grounds, with space to sit out at the front and to the rear is a small lawned area for guests' use, screened by trees and shrubs, with garden furniture and barbecue. A dog is welcome at the property but must be kept on a lead, as there are free range chickens, sheep in surrounding fields and the grounds are not enclosed.

This peaceful, rural location is ideal for getting away from it all, yet it is just 5.5 miles to the small town of Llandovery, with shops, pub, eating places, supermarket, riverside walks and castle ruins. The West Wales coast, with the picturesque seaside towns of Aberaeron, New Quay and Llangrannog, is around 40 miles away. There are footpaths from the door, miles of forest walking and cycling tracks in Crychan Forest to the north and the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park is just two miles to the south. The market town of Brecon, with its Cathedral, is just 20 miles away.
