The Firs is a beautifully presented single-storey timber lodge, situated in an elevated location, with stunning panoramic views over the Trannon valley, on the owners’ farm above the market town of Llanidloes. There are town facilities and attractions within easy reach, but all you need on site for a perfect, relaxing break – with patio, garden furniture, barbecue and private hot tub overlooking the wonderful views!
The accommodation, benefiting from WiFi and central heating throughout, comprises:
Entrance: storm porch and entrance hallway with coat hooks; hall cupboard housing freezer.
Living Room: a spacious, open-plan room with wooden flooring, quality sofas, Freesat TV, DVD player, patio doors with countryside views, dining table, chairs and bench seating.
Kitchen Area: fully fitted and with integrated appliances including electric oven, gas hob, slim dishwasher, fridge, washer/dryer and microwave. Lovely Welcome Hamper provided.
Master Bedroom One: with double bed and window overlooking the valley views.
En Suite Bathroom: fully tiled, with shower over the bath, WC, basin.
Bedroom Two: a second double bedroom.
En Suite Shower Room: fully tiled, with shower cubicle with dual-headed shower, WC, basin.
Outisde: private patio area with garden benches, table and chairs, gas barbecue; portico-style undercover area overlooking the valley, with private hot tub; undercover, partly-glazed area to the side of the lodge for sitting out in cooler weather.
Parking: parking for 2 or 3 cars to the front of the lodge.
The Firs is one of two detached lodges, standing adjacent to each other but with private patio and hot tub facilities. (The second lodge is not yet complete.)
Llanidloes is an attractive market town, 2.75 from The Firs, with small supermarket, petrol station, independent shops, furniture store, pubs and eating places. The Llyn Clwedog is just beyond the property, with its Dam nearby, and a drive of 2-3 miles round the southern end of the reservoir takes you to the Bryntail Lead Mines visitor attraction and the Clwedog Sailing Club. St Idloes Golf Club is 3.7 miles away. It is 17 miles north to Machynlleth and the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and 27 miles to the coast at picturesque Aberdyfi, with sandy beach, sailing, watersports and historic golf course. 17 miles to the south is Rhayader, with its Red Kite Feeding Station, and the reservoirs, forests and attractions of the Elan Valley. This is an excellent area for walking, with stretches of Offa’s Dyke, Glyndwr’s Way and the Severn Way nearby, and mountain biking.
