From the sitting room, you will be drawn into the Oak Room, a delightful orangery with wonderful views across the garden and the Tanat Valley beyond. Upstairs both bedrooms enjoy the serenity of the location with more stunning views; the master bedroom features a king-size bed; and bedroom two has twin 3’ single beds. The modern family bathroom is also located upstairs. Outside, the impressive garden boasts yet more incredible views including fabulous views of the mountains behind the property. The garden has the perfect al-fresco dining area with garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue.

Fron Cottage is the ideal base for an activities break away. Cyclists and thrill seekers will delight in the Revolution Bike Park, less than a mile away, where some of the finest downhill and freeride trails in the UK await - novices can take advantage of expert coaching and bikes can be hired. If water sports are more to your liking, beautiful Lake Vyrnwy and the impressive Bala Lake will not disappoint, with opportunities for kayaking, sailing and canoeing; and white water rafting adventures for the bravest! Walking opportunities are endless - both on the doorstep and a little further afield where Snowdonia National Park (approximately 25 miles) invites you to take on the climb to the summit of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Alternatively, take the Snowdon Mountain Railway steam train up (and down if you like) and enjoy the breath-taking scenery without the hard work. Not to forget fishing, gorge walking and pony trekking, it's all here.

This lovely Llangynog cottage is perfect for a family holiday all year round and a short drive away is the neighbouring village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant where you can find a bigger selection of convenience stores, local pubs, restaurants, a quirky art gallery; and is home to the spectacular Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall which, at 240 feet high, is the tallest single-drop waterfall in Britain and provides many walks to suit a variety of abilities.

If you are looking for a cottage in a beautiful, fairly remote location (as we were) this will take a lot of beating. You are up a gated lane (concreted strips with grass in the middle most of the way). You pass what looks like a farmhouse; the lane steepens and is shared by the cottage and one other home above it. We have a VW Golf: it managed the lane perfectly well, but a more sporty, lower slung model might not. The views are well represented by the images on the web site. The kitchen is attractive and well equipped; the hamper provided was generous; the living room perhaps a little spartan but would certainly be cosy if you used the fire; the heating modern; the wifi excellent (TV not internet connected so bring a device to stream from your subscriptions); the sun room again well represented by the images and if you put chairs by the door you have views in both directions. Bed comfortable; pretty good shower over bath fixed with a glass divider; definitely use the bath mat provided. Bring slippers; the staircase is new and attractive but wooden and you should not go up and down in your socks. You can walk out of the door up the hill to a high valley (and much further if you are an experienced walker with good maps or walking Satnav). Linda is a most helpful housekeeper. Powis Castle is a must; lots of local churches worth a look especially St Melangell. Lake Vyrnwy and Bala are musts. If you enjoy driving on narrow roads the road from the end of Lake Vyrnwy to Bala is spectacular. So is the wider road from Llangynog to Bala. We had a great week even though we had to dodge a lot of heavy rain.

Beautiful cottage with beautiful views. The cottage had pretty much everything we needed. Fabulous welcome hamper - best we've had. Linda was easy to get hold of and very helpful - even offered to collect us from a village 5 miles away when we got lost. Very peaceful although dogs barking nearby early in the morning. Cottage would benefit from a smart TV when the weather is bad.
