This superb cottage is a perfect base for couples looking to relax in beautifully diverse countryside, with a selection of walks from the door, along with the opportunity to explore 150 acres of farmland and three wildlife ponds, as well as nearby towns and villages. Set predominantly on one floor, this delightful cottage has a mezzanine zip/link super king-size double bedroom with balcony on the first floor. Downstairs, there's a spacious bathroom with whirlpool bath and a compact kitchen, which opens out into a striking galleried sitting area with feature fireplace, cosy woodburning stove and garden views. Outside, you can sit in your own private decked garden with a feeling of seclusion, whilst relaxing in the warmth of the external bath after a day's exploring, from where views across moorland can be seen. This lovely holiday home is situated just two miles from the popular village of Llanbister and being on the edge of moorland, this is a perfect location to enjoy long walks from the door. This wonderful cottage is also an ideal base for other outdoor facilities, such as golf, cycling and horse riding. You are ideally placed to visit the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells, or alternatively explore the Shropshire Hills, which are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and stretch from the popular market town of Knighton. Slightly further afield, why not explore the Elan Valley with its majestic Victorian Dam, just twenty miles away, or visit the nearby towns of Rhayader and Builth Wells? A beautiful, cosy cottage, an ideal holiday home for a romantic break away.

The tiny Welsh village of Llanbister is situated in picturesque Powys countryside and is perfectly set between the market towns of Newtown and Llandrindod Wells and is also just a short distance from the English counties of Shropshire and Herefordshire. ! It had a little indoor wood fire which warmed up the whole cottage once you got the fire going. The owner Debbie was very nice and very knowledgeable about the area as well. Plus we loved seeing her dog Betty. Theres alot of farm land you can walk around if you like that type of thing.not that far from the nearest town which was 15 minutes away. We are looking forward to coming back to stay!!!

Previous reviews have described the place perfectly. Very remote but adjacent to a B&B in the middle of a farm. Very cosy cottage. Owners left us alone to enjoy our break. Overall a really enjoyable break.

It has history, atmosphere, warmth and comfort. This is a remote cottage and when the owner in the neighbouring B&B does not respond, the absence of telephone, mobile or internet combined with the care needed on the farm track gives a sense of vulnerability. The farm yard on arrival is not especially welcoming, but going through the gate to the Cwytch was, initially, like stepping into an oasis. However, I was greeted by an empty log basket, a slightly tired wooden floor and several towels hanging off the coat stand. These were rough and not folded. I later read that these were air dried in a drive to being environmentally friendly. There was a good supply of logs in the shed so I collected some. I thought there appeared a pile of rubbish by the fire - a used disposable coffee cup, a cardboard toilet roll and some sleeves from ready meals. I read that this was environmentally friendly fire lighting material. Maybe, but I washed my hands after lighting the fire. The cottage itself was well appointed and comfortable. I removed the pile of spiders, twigs and one wasp from the outside bath only to be unable to turn the water on. The luxurious spa bath in the tasteful bathroom provided a suitable, but indoor alternative for night 1. A very comfortable sleep and a lovely day exploring the surroundings, plus a lovely outside bath on the evening of night 2. Next day was spent exploring the Elan Valley Dams. Unfortunately, on my return to the cottage (night 3) the water pressure was very low and then no water at all in the bath, spa or kitchen sink from 4.00 onwards. No response from the neighbouring B and B. I went to bed at 11.00 without even having been able to wash the dishes. Night 3 then, less than ideal. We were of course in the middle of a drought and the farm operates on borehole water. These things happen. It is more the unhelpful response of the owner and Sykes to this issue that dulls the sparkle of this potentially magical retreat. The venue is, well, as it says. The customer experience is well, how can I say this, - such that I would be unable to recommend either the Cwtch or Sykes based on the poor response to my concern over lack of water.
