About this property

Llangain Farmhouse & Barn enjoys one of the most spectacular locations imaginable. Situated on a hill overlooking the Wye Valley, you can literally stand awe struck at this utterly magical view. With over 250 years of history this is a holiday home that comes highly recommended with traditional features throughout, including beams, thick walls and three woodburning stoves. The house has been restored using local craftsmen and materials (such as Herefordshire Oak) to create a one off property. The cottage can sleep up to 14 as a sofa bed is included in the barn for an extra two people. We see this as a wonderful converted farmhouse with a location that is unparalleled.

The ancient market town of Hay-on-Wye lies on the Welsh/English border, by the River Wye, in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Renowned for its world-famous Hay Festival of Literature, the town is a popular destination for book-lovers and holidaymakers wishing to enjoy the leisure activities and beautiful scenery of the Wye Valley. The town has many book shops, antique shops, restaurants and cafes, and is surrounded by spectacular countryside which provides excellent walking, cycling, birdwatching, fishing and canoeing opportunities.
