Dexter Lodge is situated in open grounds on a working sheep farm in the Radnorshire hills, 4 miles north of Builth Wells and 4.5 miles south of Llandrindod Wells. Dexter is one of a pair of lodges (with WAL366), accessed via a farm lane, with the last short distance across the grassy hillside. Sheep freely graze the surrounding land - please close all gates! There is a shared parking area a short distance from the lodge. If you want to get away from it all and enjoy the peaceful countryside, surrounded by the wooded hills and moors, then this is the place for you! Dexter Lodge has a private decking area with lovely views.

Dexter Lodge has a well-furnished sitting room with leather three piece suite, flatscreen Sky TV and DVD player, and adjacent kitchen diner with electric cooker, integrated fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and slim dishwasher; there is also a round dining table and four chairs (an additional chair is available if required). A door from the dining area leads out onto the decking balcony. There is also a small wet room on the ground floor. Upstairs, the lodge has a spacious family bedroom with a double and a single bed, and a smaller second bedroom with a single bed (a pull-out single is also available) and an en suite bathroom. The lodge has gas central heating: underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, and WiFi, but mobile reception is limited, particularly indoors.

Nearby facilities and attractions include the Radnor Forest, the Elan Valley (with Visitor Centre, reservoirs and forested countryside walks), Abbey Cwm-Hir hall, museum and gardens, the National Cycle Museum at Llandrindod Wells, exhibitions at the Royal Welsh Showground at Builth Wells, and the historic market town of Rhayader with nearby Red Kite Feeding Station. The nearest pub is in the small village of Howey, just under 3 miles away, and there is range of pubs, shops and eating venues in both Llandrindod Wells and Builth Wells, 4-5 miles away.
