About this property

Set on the owners 20-acre hillside farm above the village of Felindre, the Tractor Shed has been beautifully converted from a traditional old stone barn and is surrounded by rolling countryside in this unspoilt part of Wales. This lovely cottage provides a warm welcome from the moment you step through the door with its exposed stone walls, oak doors and immaculately presented accommodation. A perfect place for families or couples to enjoy a relaxing break together in a peaceful rural setting. The attractive, well-equipped country-style kitchen with its granite worktops and Everhot traditional cooking range leads into an inner hallway and from there into the lovely bathroom with spa bath, perfect for relaxing after a day spent walking in the surrounding hills. The comfortable sitting room with its cast iron electric stove provides a welcoming space to relax, plan the next day’s activities or step outside through French doors onto the rear patio to admire the lovely, terraced gardens. Head upstairs and you will find two beautifully-presented bedrooms, both with lovely views across the surrounding countryside and a second bathroom complete with marble topped vanity unit and shower. The cottage has an attractively landscaped terrace to the rear with a patio and an additional outdoor seating area is to be found to the side of the cottage, giving ample space for enjoying a refreshing drink or eating alfresco whilst admiring the wonderful views across the valley to the hills beyond. Lovely horse-riding trails and walks along Glyndwr's Way, the nearby Kerry Ridgeway or Jack Mytton Way can be enjoyed from the cottage and there is an abundance of walks and cycle routes at Offa's Dyke with fabulous views to be had. The nearby village of Beguildy has a well-stocked shop, pub and Post Office while the town of Knighton has a large range of amenities on offer. The thriving towns of Newtown and Welshpool are a short drive away, as is the fascinating historic town of Montgomery, or cross over the border into Shropshire to explore the many market towns and areas of outstanding natural beauty. A day trip to the Snowdonia National Park in the north, or the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) in the south is also possible. Ideally placed for exploring Mid Wales and Shropshire, this attractive cottage, surrounded by beautiful Welsh countryside yet close to the English border, has all the ingredients for a perfect holiday for friends and family all year round. Note: This property can be booked with Ref: 11208, together they sleep 9.

The small village of Beguildy sits amongst peaceful countryside on the edge of the Welsh/English border. Surrounded by green landscapes, the village hosts a public house serving good food, a shop and a Post Office for daily essentials. There is fantastic access for those who wish to explore Beacon Hill, plus a 5-mile route for keen horse riders can be reached on the nearby beautiful Glyndwr's Way National Trail, as well as the Kerry Ridgeway or Jack Mytton Way.

Really well equipped and very much out the way. I will be returning in the future.

Time moved at its own pace and we took full advantage of the beautiful landscape around us with long walks around Knighton and the impressive Devils Bridge. It will forever be remembered as the place where we got engaged and we will certainly be returning in the not too distant future. Thank you.
