A self-contained two storey 'cottage' located next to the owner's C17th farmhouse 1 mile NE Painscastle, 4.5 miles from Hay-on-Wye.

The Old Dairy is self-contained two storey accommodation to the far end of The Cottage and located next to the owner's C17th farmhouse, one mile north east of Painscastle, 4.5 miles from Hay-on-Wye. Stabling is available by arrangement on this farm, which has sheep, red deer, horses and free range fowl. There are lovely views from the grounds and this is a great location for nature lovers with wildlife areas on the farm, and in the surrounding countryside.

This simple cottage has open-plan living accommodation comprising a small fitted kitchen area, dining table and four chairs, small flatscreen TV, electric flame-effect fire and a quality sofa. The shower room is also on the ground floor. A narrow, open-tread, spiral staircase (not suitable for young children) leads up to an attic bedroom with a double bed and limited headroom. Oil-fired central heating is run off the owner's supply. There is patio furniture to the front of the cottage and to the rear guests have access to an enclosed garden shared with the adjoining cottage.

There is excellent local walking, including Offa's Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk nearby. The picturesque 'book town' of Hay-on-Wye is well worth a visit, and it is just a short drive to the Black Mountains to the north east of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
