Ideally located to visit a number of places whichever direction you go and plenty of dining out places and local shops close by. Surrounded by lots of lovely walking areas for humans and dogs, the cottage is ideal to come back to and relax after a busy day exploring. Only one sticking point which we weren't aware of at the time of booking is the main road right outside the front gate which can be very noisy at certain times of the day but the owner gave us the heads up on this before arrival, along with the parking situation which is across the road a few yards down which can be a bit dodgy when loading and unloading. However, we managed and not too much of an issue to put us off and would like to come back again someday, well worth another visit.

There is a step down into the front bedroom and my friend didn't see it and fell, hurting her ankle. Visitors should be made aware of how busy, fast and noisy the road is. Whilst we knew that parking was across the road we were not made aware that you had drive up the kerb. If we had come away in my car we could not have done that as my car is low to the ground and damage could have occurred. I would not have wanted to risk it. I would have though twice had I know there is no window in the bathroom. Felt very claustrophobic. OTHER ISSUES There is neither a shower mat nor grab handle in the shower. We both felt vunerable whilst showering. The toilet seat does not stay up. The beds were comfortable and we slept well, not using the duvets as it was too warm. However, the back bedroom lacked storage. The wardrobe is very small and I filled it without a second person. The hinge needs adjustment as the door does not stay open. Only one tiny bedside table and the drawer had no room for anything. I had to put the stool next to the bed for the usual things one keeps on a bedside table. There were no bins in either bedroom. Downstairs was well laid out and we liked the lights in the living room and I had brought some too so it was made to look very welcoming. Sofas were cmfortable. TV was small and whilst watching the rugby we could not read the score on the screen from where we were sitting. Kitchen well equiped. Only small niggle was that the microwave and oven doors do not stay open. We sat outside each evening pre dinner having a drink with the vista of the open field. We enjoyed our holiday and visited many places and generally it was a good cottage to relax in. Had some evening meals out locally.

The cottage was perfect, everything we needed was there - even hair straighteners! We were concerned about the parking but didn’t need to be - it’s just opposite the cottage and easily accessible. The car was safely off the road and there was plenty of room for a larger car - no worries at all. The road wasn’t a problem - it wasn’t very busy and easy to cross. The cottage was immaculately clean, not a speck of dust anywhere and the bedding and mattresses were spotless. The fields directly out the back from the garden were perfect for letting our dogs have an early/late run. Talgarth was a great base to go walking and exploring from. The Local pubs and shops were so friendly and welcoming. We had a fabulous holiday and can’t fault a thing about the cottage.
