About this property

S41852 is a self catering holiday home in the Monmouthshire countryside. This detached traditionally built stone barn, is in a truly stunning rural setting surrounded by rolling countryside and extensive views towards the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. You will experience a beautiful silence with the blackest skies and bright stars and yet be only six minutes by car to the nearest village of Raglan and 15 minutes by car to the historic border town of Monmouth.
The Monmouthshire village of Raglan has three local pubs serving food, a farm shop, newsagent, fish and chip shop, butcher and a church. There are some excellent eateries in the area. Monmouth, set in the heart of the Wye Valley, officially designated as one of the UK's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is famous for its Roman and Medieval beginnings, Georgian mansions and Victorian courtyards.

"Characterful, clean and very comfortable. Well equipped. Off the beaten track yet not too far from civilisation. Lots to see and do in the area. Lovely cottage."

"A little disappointed with the welcome hamper which did not include cereal, fruit or biscuits. We have stayed in many rural retreat properties& these items are always included so a little surprised not to have them this time. Also had trouble with the TV, difficult to turn on & select channels. The instructions didn't help & seemed overly complicated."

"Warm, comfortable, spacious (for two) and suitably rural, but could have been cleaner. ( Without electricity for approximately 9 hours, but that was 'courtesy' of Western Power)."
