The welcoming lounge boasts two plush sofas and a lovely warming woodburning stove, perfect to relax in front of after an exciting day spent on the mountains, exploring the old quarries, hidden lakes and natural waterfalls. Outside, the rear decked patio area has furniture, so you can make the most of warm summer evenings and enjoy some alfresco dining or simply relax with a glass of something cold after a day walking on the mountains. Blaenau Ffestiniog itself has good amenities with a selection of independent shops, pubs, eating establishments and tea rooms all within a five minute walk, and the Fish Restaurant and Takeaway is definitely worth a visit! There is superb access to Snowdonia from here with an abundance of walks and cycling trails, Antur Stiniog’s downhill mountain bike centre is less than a mile away and the largest mountain bike trail centre in Wales, Coed-y-Brenin, just a twenty minute’s drive. Blaenau Ffestiniog also hosts Zip World Titan and Zip World Caverns and Bounce Below, all located at Llechwedd Slate Caverns. The bustling harbour town of Porthmadog is only a short drive away, or for something a little more relaxing take the train there! The world-famous Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway, will take you through some of the most spectacular Snowdonia scenery. The Italianate village of Portmeirion is definitely worth a visit and there are miles and miles of sandy beaches all within easy reach.
