About this property

First floor barn conversion, 2 bedrooms both en-suite, sleeps 4, Snowdonia National Park, north Wales between Harlech and Barmouth and about a mile from beach

Hayloft is a delightful barn conversion situated on an organic working farm in a lovely position, at the end of a short track, with great views across open fields to the sand dunes and beach at Morfa Ddyffryn and to the Moelfre hills behind. This is in the village of Ddyffryn Ardudwy in the Snowdonia National Park with Harlech and Barmouth are both 5 miles away. Many original features have been retained such as exposed beams and the large lounge window, which was once the opening of the Hayloft, giving this accommodation a charming character and a cosy cottage feel. This property also benefits from a large communal games room with a pool table, table football, table tennis, books and games fantastic for when the weather is not so kind! There is also a children’s play area, barbecue and picnic area.

Hayloft is on the first floor and approached up 13 external stone steps but the views are worth it! The living/dining room is furnished with a leather sofa, chairs, flatscreen Freeview TV/ DVD player, and music system. There is a small fold down dining table and chairs. The kitchen is well-equipped with a gas cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The master double bedroom is spacious with a vaulted ceiling and the ensuite is fitted with a bath with handheld shower, basin and WC. The second bedroom has twin beds and an ensuite shower room with basin and WC.

Secure bike storage is available and there is plenty of parking for guests. There are two pubs, a newsagent; village store, cafe and railway station just a short walk away.  The vast sandy beach is stunning and stretches for miles. Visit Harlech for the stunning castle, independent shops and cafes, sandy beach, golf, theatre and leisure centre. The traditional seaside resort of Barmouth is a must for the beach, boat rides, shops and most importantly, ice creams! The Mawddach Estuary trail is fantastic for walking and cycling, and there is a local Farm Park and Slate Caverns. Portmeirion is 20 miles away, Porthmadog for Welsh Highland Railway, 22 miles and Blaenau Ffestiniog  for ZipWorld, 20 miles.

It was good to see the farm work in progress. E.g. Sheep shearing. John and Jane were very helpful for telling us where to go. The beach was wonderful. We had a lovely week, thank you. It was a peaceful spot. Nice to see the farm work in progress e.g.Sheep shearing. John and Jane were very kind and friendly, telling where to go and how to get there. Plenty of parking space. Comfortable beds and good power shower. A lovely holiday. From Patricia Bryan
