About this property

A beautifully appointed, semi-detached Victorian villa on a slightly elevated position overlooking the village green in Criccieth, on the north west coast of Wales. This beautiful house is an ideal place to stay, for friends and large families wishing to enjoy a seaside holiday together. Set within half an acre of lawned gardens, the property is set over four floors and will not disappoint from the moment you walk into the hallway, which has a wonderful turned staircase to the upper floors and a colourful stained glass window to the upper stairwell. With bold, statement art pieces throughout, this Victorian villa has retained many original character features from the period, from deep bay windows and amazing views, to high ceilings with original coving and ceiling roses. The kitchen, with contemporary fitted units and a Belfast sink with a slate surround, is the real social hub of the property, a great place where everyone can sit around the large dining table and plan the day ahead over a leisurely breakfast, or reflect on the day over supper. The sitting room is on the first floor, with a large bay window to enjoy those amazing sea and castle views, and a wonderful feature fireplace housing a woodburning stove, a splendid place to relax and unwind after a busy day. The second sitting room has a TV and a selection of DVDs and games, as well as well-stocked bookshelves, making it a great space for the children. The bedrooms are individually designed and furnished, roomy and well-appointed, and the bathrooms are contemporary in design and of a high quality. The master bedroom on the second floor has an en-suite and a beautiful, wrought iron, four-poster Victorian bed. The bedroom on the ground floor has an original, antique Victorian wrought brass iron bed, and with an adjoining shower room it is ideal for those less mobile. Outside this lovely house is a covered veranda with seating, and well-appointed lawned gardens with pretty planted borders, mature shrubs and trees. The gardens are predominantly to the front and side of the property, with seating and garden furniture, where you can all enjoy alfresco dining or have a kick about on the lower lawn if the children still need to burn off any excess energy. Criccieth offers an extensive beach and Criccieth Castle sits on a headland, both only a few minutes’ walk from this lovely Victorian villa. If you are feeling more energetic, Criccieth Golf Course is only a walk away, or you can simply enjoy a day on the beach. Enjoy a spot of lunch, or afternoon tea, in one of the many cafes and tea rooms in the village, or treat yourself to an evening meal at the award-winning Dylan’s Restaurant on the sea front. Further afield, enjoy exploring this beautiful part of the North Wales coast. Travel to the harbour town of Porthmadog, only five miles away, and take the Ffestiniog steam train and travel the 13.5 miles to Blaenau Ffestiniog and its many attractions, such as the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Zip World Titan, the longest four-man zip wire in Europe, Bounce Below, an underground trampoline, plus the Antur Stiniog Mountain Bike Centre and its various downhill trails. Alternatively, visit the stunning Italianate village of Portmeirion, or pop along the Llyn Peninsula and discover the watersports at Abersoch, and the quaint fishing village of Aberdaron. There really is something for everyone to enjoy in this wonderful area, and this fabulous Victorian villa can be booked at any time of the year.

This seaside town is 5 miles from Porthmadog. The town’s castle dominates the skyline and offers views of Tremadog Bay and Snowdonia. There is two beaches and the Snowdonia National Park for you walkers and cyclists. There is also pubs, restaurants and tea rooms. Further afield, Portmeirion’s gardens, the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Harlech Castle, Caernarfon Castle and the beaches and golf courses of the Llyn Peninsula are all within an easy drive.
