About this property

Tywyn 5 miles. Situated at the base of a wooded valley, with mountain views from the front and Dolgoch Falls behind, this wonderful holiday home is at the end of a terrace of purpose-built holiday homes. It makes the perfect base for families and groups of friends exploring the Snowdonia National Park, just a short drive from the seaside town of Tywyn and the sweeping sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay. Accessed via an external staircase to the side, or along a wooden boardwalk to the rear of the properties which offers ground floor access, this wonderful holiday home has an upside-down layout over two floors. There are two bedrooms, one of which offers an en-suite WC, and a family bathroom on the ground floor. On the first floor there is a kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area, where you can sit and enjoy views of the mountains. Outside, you can sit in the communal lawned area and listen to the babble of the stream that runs adjacent to the garden, where a gate leads to a streamside path, or enjoy a walk to the top of the three levels that make up Dolgoch Falls. Listen out for the Talyllyn stream train as it passes over the waterfall ravine, and explore the valley with a ride on the narrow gauge railway from the nearby station. The area is set within the Snowdonia National Park and boasts diverse and striking scenery; the sandy beaches and dunes of Tywyn, with its promenade, and the extensive waters of Talyllyn Lake rising up to the breathtaking peak of Cader Idris and the surrounding mountains. You are ideally placed to explore both the mountains of Snowdonia, lakeside walks and Cardigan Bay, with its beautiful sandy beaches, and the area offers various outdoor activities, such as pony trekking, bird spotting or star gazing. Why not take the 18-mile drive to the Dyfi Osprey Project, or perhaps take time out to visit the Centre of Alternative Energy for a glimpse into the future, just 14 miles away near Machynlleth. You are just 15 miles from two pretty market towns of Dolgellau and Machynlleth, which is considered to be the ancient capital of Wales. A short drive will take you to one of many car parks at the foot of Cader Idris, where you can park up if you are tempted to conquer the 19th highest mountain in Wales, just seven miles away, or a little further afield, take a trip to Barmouth with its picturesque harbour and beautiful Mawddach Estuary. Travel through Tywyn and along the coastline to Fairbourne, with its stretches of sandy beaches. The perfect retreat for enjoying the diverse landscape of the Snowdonia National Park, and the mystical Dolgoch Falls. Note: This property is next to Ref. 923758, together they sleep 10.

The town of Tywyn is situated on the sweep of Cardigan Bay, perched on the end of the imposing Cader Idris mountain range. The promenade and town are all on one level, and there's also a regular open-air market and shops offering a wide range of local produce and gifts available. Many activities can be enjoyed in the area, including mountaineering, surfing, walks and cycling. Within reach are the towns of Dolgellau and Aberdovey, along with the attractions of Harlech Castle, Llanfair Slate Caverns and the Talyllyn Railway.
