About this property

Tywyn 5 miles. A purpose-built terraced cottage by the picturesque Dolgoch Falls, near the town of Tywyn on Cardigan Bay in North Wales. This lovely cottage is an ideal base for families and groups of friends wishing to explore a dynamic mix of scenery, from the majestic mountains and mystical waterfalls to sweeping beaches. Access to this pretty cottage is via steps to the side and along a wooden boardwalk to the rear of the property. Set over two floors, there are three bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom, and a family shower room on the ground floor, which are accessed from the first floor. On the first floor is a compact well-equipped kitchen, leading to an open plan sitting room with woodburner and dining area, where you can sit and relax after a brisk walk to the top of Dolgoch Falls. There is also a first floor games room with pool table and a selection of games, together with a double sofa bed for added sleeping flexibility. Outside, you can relax in the communal lawned area and enjoy the distant mountain views and rustling of the trees. The property benefits from the backdrop of pretty woodland walks leading up the beautiful Dolgoch Falls. A short drive will take you to the traditional seaside town of Tywyn on the popular coastline of Cardigan Bay. The area is dominated by the amazing scenery of the Snowdonia National Park, from the formidable rise of Cadair Idris to the lapping shores of Tal-y-Llyn Lake, softly sloping down to the popular coastal resorts and sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay. You will be spoilt for choice for activities and days out. Why not enjoy walking the ever-changing scenery of Mawddach Estuary and use the footbridge to cross over from Fairbourne to Barmouth, two totally different but equally charming seaside towns? You are ideally placed to explore the diverse local scenery, with pathways up to the peak of Cadair Idris, which is just a short drive away. There is plenty of opportunity to explore the stunning local landscapes, with the area offering various outdoor activities such as watersports, pony trekking, mountain biking or trips on the steam railways. Alternatively, take a drive to the RSBP Ynys-Hir Nature Reserve near the sand dunes of Borth. There are many other towns in the area offering the chance to enjoy days out, with the mountain market town of Dolgellau, the pretty riverside town of Machynlleth or the beautiful sandy beaches of Tywyn, to name but a few. Follow the coast south to the pretty bustling seaside town of Aberdovey, with its championship golf course, perfect for golf lovers. A perfect retreat for families and friends looking to enjoy a fabulous selection of days out in the mountains, lakes and beaches of the nearby countryside, and with many other outdoor activities to enjoy.

The tranquil town of Tywyn lies on the sweep of Cardigan Bay, perched on the end of the imposing Cader Idris mountain range where the landscape tumbles into the sea on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The promenade and town are all on one level, ideal for that gentle evening stroll by the clear blue water of the Bay. Shopping in Tywyn is a pleasure, with a regular open-air market, and local shops offering a wide range of local produce and gifts. The proximity to mountains and sea means the town also offers a wide variety of activities, from mountaineering to surfing, and the area offers leisurely rambles through the beautiful countryside.
