Snaptrip says

Beech Cottage in Devon is praised for its cleanliness, stunning garden, and peaceful location, ideal for exploring North Devon. Guests appreciate the cosy wood burner, the recent upgrades including a new bed and TV, and the thoughtful touches like a dog-friendly hamper. Some concerns were raised about heating efficiency and comfort during colder months.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with only a few minor comments about dog hairs and a damp smell on arrival. Overall, guests seem satisfied with the cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions and coastal paths. It is considered an ideal spot for exploring North Devon.

While the new bed and furniture have been well-received, there are mixed reviews about the heating's adequacy in colder weather. The wood burner is liked, but some guests found it insufficient and suggested additional heating solutions.

Facilities are generally good with recent upgrades, but several guests reported issues with heating and hot water. The lack of a freezer and tumble dryer was also noted. Maintenance concerns, such as the need for garden furniture and a more effective torch, were mentioned.

Guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like a welcome hamper for dogs and a basket of logs for the wood burner. However, it should be noted that such gifts are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Bathroom showing signs of age,as when we stayed last year you said you was about to re furbish, good to see garden fully enclosed, had trouble getting hot water for 2 , couldn't get wi fi internet, unfortunately dog hairs on bedroom carpet had to hoover up, back door reveal was full of dirt and hair, lounge furniture could do with up grading to something more comfortable, it wasn't as clean as it was the year previously, and could do with airing before guest arrive as there was a damp smell on arrival , having said all this it wasn't a totally disappointed break , just needs a bit of tlc

The heating may be sufficient for summer time but when temperatures are 10 or 12 degrees it’s nice to come back to warmth and not have to wait for sensitive heaters to recognise your presence. On our first morning we found that the Emerson heater was switched off so no hot water. If the owners attitude to heating the property changed it would be a very comfortable venue.
