About this property

A charming end-terrace stone cottage located in the heart of Ceredigion, 1 Poplar Terrace is pet-friendly with a unique streamside location in the village of Pontrhydfendigaid. With stunning surroundings and the River Teifi nearby, this Welsh property makes for a unique rural getaway, while still offering close proximity to eating and drinking establishments. 1 Poplar Terrace is laid out over two floors. On the ground floor is a large living/dining space with high ceilings and windows giving off a roomy and airy feel. It boasts neutral yet tasteful decor with a four-seater table, plus a sofa and TV. At the back of the property is a modern kitchen with breakfast bar, fridge/freezer, electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. As an added bonus, there’s a generously-sized wet room just off the kitchen, with a wall-mounted handheld shower, toilet and washbasin. To the rear of the property, with access just out the back of the kitchen, is a private patio. A gated entrance to the side gives quick access to the road and roadside parking. A shed at the back houses a washing machine, tumble dryer, a second fridge/freezer, plus storage for dirty boots and kit, there is also an area where bicycles can be securely locked to a shackle. The upstairs has two tidy bedrooms - a double with modern en-suite shower room, basin and toilet, and a twin room. An arched window in each bedroom overlook the stream at the front of the cottage, a smashing view to be greeted with in the mornings while enjoying a cup of tea. The cottage benefits from a cracking location. Just a very short walk away there is a lovely country pub. The banks of the River Teifi is a two-minute walk and Strata Florida Abbey ruins are 1.4 miles away, Cors Caron National Park is 3.7 miles by car, Devil’s Bridge Falls is 9.1 miles. The best part about visiting this area of Wales is that the scenery changes dramatically throughout the seasons. No matter what time of the year you choose to visit, you’re bound to experience a new face of Ceredigion and its borders - well worth a looksee if you’re not familiar with the area.

Pontrhydfendigaid is a village between Devil’s Bridge and Tregaron. The village sits on the River Teifi on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains and is home to a local shop and the Red Lion pub.
