About this property

Llanybydder 6 miles. A deceptively spacious annexe with a pretty cottage garden, on the owner’s smallholding in Cwrtnewydd, nestled into the undulating West Wales countryside and close to popular towns and the sweeping beaches and coves of Cardigan Bay. Set over one split level, there are two comfortable bedrooms here, along with a family bathroom. There is an open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area, and comfy seating in the sitting area, with far-reaching views across the gardens to the distant mountains. Outside you can sit in the quaint cottage garden with shingle paths and herbaceous plants, perfect to relax in the early morning sunlight. Guests also have shared use of the owner’s garden, and may even glimpse the resident tawny owl. This really is a perfect base for a small family or couple to explore the diverse landscapes and perhaps enjoy watching the comic antics of the owners resident pygmy goat herd. Cwrtnewydd is a small rural village with farming at its heart, with various footpaths criss-crossing the valley. You are ideally placed to explore the fabulous coastline of Cardigan Bay which boasts beautiful coves, sweeping sandy beaches and a variety of wildlife including birdlife, dolphins and seals. Explore fantastic little coastal villages and towns such as New Quay with its nearby honey farm, the harbour town of Aberaeron with its candy coloured houses or Llangrannog with is rocky cove, all linked with the popular Wales Coastal Path. The area offers a huge variety of activities such as dolphin and wildlife-spotting boat trips, kayaking, coasteering, fishing or surfing, as well as a fabulous selection of walks and cycle paths. Alternatively, explore local National Trust gems, including Mwnt or Penbryn beaches and Llanerchaeron, a working farm estate. Why not take the opportunity to visit Cors Caron, 22 miles, a fabulous nature reserve with over a mile of raised boardwalks across the wildlife-rich bog and marshland, and fabulous circular walks? For the more adventurous, why not take a trip to the Llandysull Padlers Club & Canoe centre with whitewater rafting and rock climbing. Great river walks and swimming in the rivers. Perhaps take a trip to Brechfa Forest, over 18,000 acres of ancient and managed woodland to explore, or visit the horticultural showcase of the National Botanical Gardens of Wales near Carmarthen, the oldest town in Wales.

A small market town straddling the River Teifi, Llanybydder is a typical old Welsh town with a small selection of shops, including a Post Office, bakers and farmers co-operative, and a few pubs and eating places scattered throughout its streets. The countryside is perfect for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers alike. The superb coastline of both is within 20 miles for great seaside days and coastal walks on the world-renowned coastal path.

The owners, Elaine and Glenn are lovely, friendly people. Loved the pygmy goats and Nell, the family dog was friendly too.. Elaine had provided us with milk and tasty homemade cakes on our arrival. It's a lovely area and near to the coast and so we found places to visit every day. Would recommend to anyone who wishes to explore this beautiful part of Wales.

Nellie is our second-favourite dog, after our own. If we’re ever back in Wales we would jump at the chance to stay here again,

We had a fantastic time here and can't wait to hopefully return sometime soon. The welcome gift of cakes and milk was a great touch. Many thanks for a great time. Sue and Andy
