About this property

New Quay 3 miles. A slightly elevated, delightful, detached house, in the small hamlet of Nanternis close to the popular seaside resort of New Quay, West Wales. An idyllic getaway for those looking for quiet seclusion, yet being a short distance from secluded bays, craggy coves and the sweeping beaches of West Wales. Set over two floors, there are three comfortable bedrooms with the family bathroom on a split level. There is a well-equipped kitchen, leading off to a spacious dining room. There is also a comfy sitting room with a warming woodburner, where you can relax in front of the TV and enjoy the real feeling of peace that this house provides. Outside, you can sit in one of the pretty segments of the multi-tiered garden that give a real feeling of seclusion and space, ideal for finding a quiet spot to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee before heading out to enjoy the delightful beaches of West Wales. The River Soden runs through the tiny valley on which this hamlet nestles, which opens up a delightful walk through National Trust property to The Secret Beach of Traeth Soden, only accessible by foot, offering a true escape, and just a short walk from the property. New Quay is a delightful harbourside resort, with traditional seaside shops and delightful ice cream parlours and sandy beaches. Why not spend time sitting on the harbour wall and you may be lucky to glimpse the resident dolphins of Cardigan Bay that regularly swim the local waters? You are ideally placed to explore the wonderful coastline of Cardigan Bay with numerous alluring coves, one of which is the typical smugglers cove of Cwmtydu, with its little fresh water inlet and pebble beach, where you may be lucky to see a seal bobbing in the undulating waters. There is also the beachside village of Llangrannog, or the sandy stretch of the National Trusts Penbryn less than 10 miles away. The towns of Aberporth and Tresaith are within a 30 minute drive and all are linked with the fabulous Coastal Path of Wales. The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as dolphin and wildlife spotting boat trips from New Quay, coasteering, river and sea fishing, fabulous walks and cycle routes. Alternatively, maybe you can experience the local spectator sport of harness racing, known locally as trotting. There are so many beautiful beaches to explore you may not wish to explore further afield, however, 10 miles to the north you will find the pretty harbour town of Aberaeron with its candy coloured terraces lining the harbour and the nearby National Trusts working estate Llanerchaeron. Within a half hours drive is the little market town of Cardigan and the nearby Welsh Wildlife Centre, with riverside walks and fabulous wildlife, Cardigan also acts as a gateway to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. A perfect retreat, close to the popular seaside resort of New Quay, with close proximity to fabulous beaches yet still being a short drive from the popular harbourside towns and beachside villages of West Wales.

This delightful seaside town is one of the most popular holiday resorts all year round, and it is easy to see why when you stroll along the sea edge and enjoy the beautiful views. The lovely range of gift shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs offer all you need, while boat trips are a wonderful opportunity to spot the playful dolphins, seals and other rare animals and birds that inhabit the bay's sheltering waters.

However everything was damp and a number of the walls had mould on them. The beds and our clothes felt wet. I think during wet summers the heating needs to be put on a couple of times a week to dry the house out.

We are disappointed that we won’t be able to go back as a family group as our grandson, although he’s only 10 years old, just about fitted into the bunk bed and the details say it’s only for a child up to 5’ 6”. There is room in the second bedroom for a third bed if needed!

We had everything we needed & much more. Comfortable, relaxing, a real home from home. The gardens are lovely & the owners have thought of everything to make this cottage inviting and welcoming. Cannot praise it enough. We had the most wonderful relaxing week.
