Outside, you can sit in the peaceful garden which is surrounded by the restful rustling of the trees in the coppice, rich in birdlife, or why not take a walk through the owners’ eight acres of farmland or maybe catch a glimpse of an elusive otter on the River Teifi? Explore Lampeter with its good selection of shops, cafés and pubs. You are also ideally placed to explore the wonderful coastline of Cardigan Bay with Aberaeron, a pretty Regency harbourside town, and the sandy beaches such as New Quay and Llangrannog, a little further down the beautiful coastline. The area also boasts several National Trust properties, including Llanerchaeron Estate and Farm, and the Dolau Cothi Gold Mines, where you can try your hand at panning for gold. There are numerous outdoor activities, with seaside activities such as dolphin and wildlife spotting, boat trips, coasteering, river and sea fishing, with Cardigan Bay being just 16 miles away. You are also close to the rural market town of Tregaron, gateway to the mountains, and the fabulous nature reserve at Cors Caron, together with the historic ruins at Strata Florida Abbey. Slightly further afield, to the north, you will find the popular university town of Aberystwyth, where you can enjoy the funicular railway up to Constitution Hill or an historic trip on a steam railway up to the striking Devils Bridge. To the south, at Llandovery, is the start of the Brecon Beacons National Park, opening up a myriad of days out.
