Everything we needed was provided and we were especially grateful to have milk, cheese, bread, butter and cake left for us by the owner. The village is very quiet and peaceful but is well placed for exploring the area, by car or by train.

The mugs in the kitchen were not clean (tea stains) and the glasses were a mish mash of styles and one was not clean. There were only 2 bowls despite the cottage being for 4 people. This did not trouble us but I would not see this as a well equipped cottage and the standard of pans, crockery, glassware etc. was not that high in terms of condition and cleanliness. Thankfully, we did not need to cook. There were a few cobwebs - from the bathroom cabinet to the toilet shelf, above the front door as examples - and I was concerned enough to take photographs because of the threat of losing the £100 bond I had paid. We left the cottage as we found it. We did find the warnings not to touch the boiler or increase any use of the heating (as it was set) as the oil was low made us concerned. The cottage was chilly. The electric fire in the downstairs room did not really help that much even with the doors closed and the curtain pulled across the front door. It is not that I want to paint a bad picture here. Its just that that had we been staying for a week, we would have found the experience below what we would expect and disappointing. For £350 for two nights, it did not live up to expectations. We did have a lovely time in Ferryside catching up with friends which was the purpose of our visit.
