    About this property

Burry Port 1 mile. A cosy elevated, semi-detached cottage nestled into the hillside with views down the little wooded valley, and just a short trip to the town of Burry Port and the coastline, with the Millennium Coastal Path stretching in both directions. This is the perfect base for families or friends looking to make the most of the picturesque coastline of South Wales and a selection of days out. Set over two floors, there are two light and airy bedrooms on the first floor, plus the family bathroom. A well-equipped galley-style kitchen with dining area leads out onto the decked veranda. There is a lovely sitting room, split into two areas, providing a relaxing area to sit and watch the TV and a cosy snug area with warming woodburner, perfect for the children to watch TV whilst you sit and relax after a day’s adventures. Outside, you can sit and eat breakfast on the enclosed spacious raised veranda that looks down the little wooded valley and enjoy a cup of tea and plan the activities for your day. A small stream runs along the valley through to Burry Port and to the coastline of South Wales. Burry Port’s sandy beach is popular with surfers and The Millennium Coastal Path runs through the harbour and into the Pembrey Country Park, home to sandy beaches, forestry, parkland and a wealth of family activities from golf, skiing and a miniature railway. You are ideally placed to explore the fabulous Gower Peninsula of South Wales, with its sweeping sandy beaches, the iconic Worms Head at Rhossilli and The Mumbles both less than an hour’s drive away. The Coastal Path of Wales sweeps in both directions with a myriad of footpaths and cycle trails and the nearby area offers watersports, golf and horse riding. Why not spend a day at the races at Ffos Las? Take a trip to the WWT Wetland Centre at Llanelli and feed the collection of rare birds or catch a game of rugby in Llanelli. Slightly further afield all within an hour’s drive, take a trip to home of the literary iconic town of Laugharne, home of Dylan Thomas, or further along the coast visit the pretty harbour town of Tenby with its multi-coloured houses and nearby days out at Oakwood Theme Park or Folly Farm. Close to bustling towns and villages, this cottage is perfect for friends and family looking to make the most of sandy beaches of the Gower and Pembrokeshire Coastline with a homely cottage to retreat to at the end of a fun-filled day.

The town of Burry Port is situated on the South Wales coastline and has a selection of shops, a Post Office, several pubs and restaurants. The harbour in the town is a hive of activity, where you can sit and watch the boat trips out to sea. The Millennium Coastal Path runs along this beautiful coastline, whilst nearby is Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ffos Las racecourse, and Cardiff is within driving distance.

    Mrs Morrall ‐ 1 Jun 2018
"When we have booked cottages with other companies we were always provided with milk in the fridge on arrival and often tea or coffee was left by previous occupants..Also lack of a teapot these gestures make such a difference. The garden was an absolute mess and looked like no one cared, the decking area made up for this in part but it would have been nice to explore the gardens.i.m sure once these matters have been addressed future visitors will appreciate it.The area was fantastic. ****** Owner response ****** Thank you for your feedback, the issues with the garden have now been addressed, we look forward to welcoming you back in the future."
    Mrs Waters ‐ 1 Jun 2018
"As we were so lucky with the weather the outside sitting area was absolutely glorious, only problem being I didn't want to go out and could have just sat there all day listening to the birds and the stream. When I was persuaded to go out the local beaches are spectacular and unspoilt. Would definitely like to visit again, but need to work out how to book perfect weather."

"Just like to mention that it was a lovely, comfortable and relaxing cottage. I loved sitting out on the decked area also a plus that the cottage is well away from the main road and the river running through the bottom of the garden was a bonus and the cottage was central to all attractions."
    - Mrs Johnstone, March 2017
"It was a well presented cottage in a secluded spot but the local facilities where very close by"
    - Mrs Bell, May 2017
"the quietness of the location so peaceful and cottage was beyond expectations, really enjoyed a relaxing holiday, would highly recommend it"
    - Mr Usher, June 2017
"Cottage was excellent, not impressed with Burry Port, due to not much in the way of attractions ."
    Mrs Mcdermont, Gwynedd
"Really enjoyed sitting on the decking behind the cottage. The accommodation was comfortable and clean. It is in a very peaceful location with several interesting footpaths nearby, whilst also being a short walk from a good pub, some shops and the superb dog-friendly beach."
