This is a delightful single-storey barn conversion, attached to the owners' farmhouse in a peaceful, rural location between Llandeilo and the Brechfa Forest.

Bwthyn-Barcud-Coch is a delightful single-storey barn conversion, attached to the owners' farmhouse in a peaceful, rural location between Llandeilo and the Brechfa Forest. The cottage has been lovingly restored, retaining some exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings to retain its character, furnished and fitted to provide comfortable accommodation for a couple, with spacious living accommodation to share with friends and/or canine companions! The cottage has a good level of privacy, but the owners are on hand to provide assistance or information if required.

The living room is open plan, with a large fitted kitchen area to one end, incorporating an electric oven and hob, microwave, small fridge/feezer, dishwasher, and a dining table and chairs. To the other end is large corner sofa and armchairs, large flatscreen TV (basic Sky package), DVD player, iPod dock, WiFi, and a lovely big woodburning stove. An initial basket of logs is provided and further supplies are available from the owner at a small addititonal charge. Other heating is by electric radiators. There is an attractive double bedroom and en suite shower room with double shower enclosure. An additional full-sized double folding bed is available if required (please mention this at time of booking). Guests have access to the owners' washing machine/laundry area.

Bwthyn-Barcud-Coch has its own private patio area with table and chairs, barbecue and chimenea. Guests are welcome to explore the owners' 2-3 acress of grounds, including woodland and a path down to the River Felindre. There is secure storage for bikes and outdoor gear in the adjacent barn, and outside tap for washing dirty bikes, boots, dogs etc.

This is an ideal location for exploring Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and north Pembrokeshire, providing excellent choice for walking and mountain biking enthusiasts. Brechfa Forest, managed by the Forestry Commission, with extensive woodland walking and mountain biking trails, is 6 miles away. The western edge of the Brecon Beacons is 10 miles away. The coast path at Llanelli is 25 miles to the south. Llanfynydd, 2 miles away, is a pretty little village with local pub, and there is a community shop in Court Henry, 3.5 miles away, selling essentials and a range of local produce. The towns of Llandeilo and Carmarthen offer further shops, pubs and restaurants a little further off. Pantglas Hall, 3 miles, offers indoor leisure facilities, including swimming pool, gym, sauna, tennis courts and play areas, cafe, bar and restaurant. There are several intersting castles to explore in the area, including Dinefwr, Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn, as well as Aberglasney Gardens and the National Botanic Gardens.
