I have been twice and it truly is a place where I can really relax. Steve and Dudley his dog welcome you to the cottage when you arrive and when you go inside you find little treats around the cottage. Talliharris is set in a beautiful location, great for seeing more red kites than I've ever seen and stars in abundance due to no light pollution.

The owner provided treats for both dog and humans such as wine milk tea coffee sugar sweets logs but whilst these were very nice , I would have preferred kindling, matches and paper and a clean ready to use wood burner., a properly working shower ( it was just a trickle, extractor in bathroom wasn’t working either). Toilet was slightly blocked on our arrival (something an owner should have checked during cleaning ( if that had been done properly). I sorted it myself quickly enough. Bed linen whilst clean was not the correct size for the bed size. Window blinds missing in the bedroom. Sofa and lounge floor covered in white dog hairs. Owners dog had left a ‘welcome gift’ of their own on path down to cottage (owner did clean this away quickly but more appeared during our stay.) The outside area was very over grown , long grass and weeds. I would not return to this cottage which falls far short of the usual standard I expect from a Sykes cottage. Such a shame as with just a little bit more effort on part of the owner regarding maintenance, it would be a good cottage.
