About this property

Acting as the gateway to the majestic Brecon Beacons National Park and nestled within the village of Cwmgors, is this delightful end-terrace cottage, Golwg Deg. This heart-warming retreat is ideal for families seeking to explore the delights of this rolling countryside or for groups of walkers looking to tackle the magnitude of walks that await them at the doorstep of the cottage. After an action-packed day, look forward to sinking into the plush sofas which rest in the front of the TV, before settling down for a home-cooked meal or a well-deserved takeaway at the dining table. Continuing to impress is the well-equipped kitchen, where you will find everything you could possibly need to prepare those delicious evening meals or pack a picnic for your hike upon the mountains. After dinner, truly relax into your evening within the rear garden where you can get a glass of wine before dipping to the bubbling hot tub whilst the younger guests make the most of the swing and slide set. As the evening grows darker, venture up the staircase to find two elegantly-presented bedrooms, comprising of a double bedroom with a cot bed and a twin bedroom, designed to ensure a flexible sleeping arrangement to suit the needs of your group. For those special occasions head to the local pub or if you don’t feel like cooking one evening, pick up a takeaway or a couple of treats from the local shop. To keep you busy whilst staying here, choose to explore the Black Mountain or ride along a vast array of cycling paths upon the Brecon Beacons. Alternatively, a short car journey will bring you to the sublime Welsh coastline, where you can soak up the sun along The Mumbles or spend an afternoon at the National Wetland Centre of Wales. Golwg Deg is a wonderful base for exploring this part of Wales with our loved ones.

Cwmgors is an old mining village resting near the wonderful Black Mountain, 15 miles away from Neath. It offers excellent walking opportunities upon the Black Mountain and, further north, in the Amman Valley, and opportunities to explore ast moorlands, prehistoric burial sites and medieval castles, and acting as the gateway to the Brecon Beacons.
