About this property

A lovingly-restored semi-detached cottage with hot tub, formally a school house, situated a ten minute walk from the beach in Morfa Bychan. Refurbished to a high standard throughout, great care has been taken to create a warm, comfortable Morfa Bychan cottage in this idyllic seaside holiday village. The use of quality slate flooring with underfloor heating, oak block worktops and high-end furnishings, along with two woodburners, mean that this Morfa Bychan cottage is welcoming all year round. Outside, a delightful garden with luxury hot tub and views up towards Moel-y-Gest, backing onto the 4th hole of the reputable village golf course, make this an ideal Morfa Bychan cottage base for exploring this popular area and then relaxing in the sunshine afterwards. The famous Black Rock Sands, with miles of safe golden sandy beach, is a short walk, and all the village amenities with shops and pub are within 5 minutes' stroll. Porthmadog, the Ffestiniog Railway or the Italianate village of Portmeirion are all within easy reach of this Morfa Bychan cottage, which offers a wonderful base for walkers, golfers, beach lovers or those who simply want to spend time together in a quality cottage in beautiful surroundings.

Situated within a short stroll of the spectacular beach at Black Rock Sands, the lovely village of Morfa Bychan is home to a local store, a post office and an excellent 18-hole golf course. Just two miles from the bustling harbour town of Porthmadog on the picturesque Glaslyn Estuary, Morfa Bychan is well situated for the shops and restaurants this larger town provides. The Ffestiniog Railway is also within easy reach and visitors can travel by steam train through the spectacular Snowdonia scenery. Borth-y-Gest is another pretty village in the near vicinity and is close to numerous cliffs and coves whilst the unique Italianate village of Portmeirion is also within easy driving distance. Those interested in history will enjoy the castles at nearby Criccieth, Harlech and Caernarfon, whilst walkers will enjoy the trails through Snowdonia and the beautiful Lleyn Peninsula.

It’s warm, spacious and ideally placed to explore the area. It was unfortunate that there were a couple of plumbing problems during our stay but the owners were brilliant at communicating and trying to get the situation resolved- nothing serious enough to spoil our lovely week.

The plug in the upstairs bathroom sink could not be released easily. I ran a bath and went back up to get in it and the water had drained out even though the plug was in properly. The hot water upstairs was not very hot and the central heating did not work properly which I reported to the owner, thankfully there was log burners to compensate for the lack of heating. Although the hot tub was new we found it to be dirty. The shower head was leaking. The property did not appear to have been cleaned properly as there was cobwebs on the lamps. We are not really complainers and love the house as we have stayed her many times this being our 9th time but just feel the all round maintenance has slipped a bit. We paid a lot of money in the current climate for our 7 night stay

The property felt like a real home from home. We used the hot tub in the dark evenings which was lovely after a day's walking. The heated front porch was a great place to dry outdoor clothing. We will definitely be back!!!
